Today the world celebrates two big days- the start of the lenten season and Valentines day.
Lenten season celebrated by some Christians is a 40-day season (not counting Sundays) that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Easter Sunday marked by fasting or giving up something such as food, social media or TV to reflect on our faith and grow our relationship with God.
Key events during Lenten season are Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
Some Christians today will get a cross on their foreheads from the ashes during a church service. The ashes symbolize grief and the acceptance of our sinful state.

When God asks us to forgive others, He is not asking the impossible but rather he calls us to do it in light of the forgiveness He has freely offered each of us who believe in His son Jesus Christ. Forgiving others is for our own good.
Forgiving is not saying, “what you did was ok, so go ahead and walk all over me. Nor is it playing the martyr, enjoying the performance of forgiving people because it perpetuates our victim role.
Forgiveness does not mean you immediately trust again and stop feeling the hurt – trust takes time to rebuild and healing takes time and help.
Forgiveness sometimes means that maybe all you can offer today is, “I want to forgive you, but right now I’m struggling emotionally. I promise I will work on it.”
Forgiveness means I am committed to reconciling as far as it’s up to me. True reconciliation takes dedication, communication, work, rebuilding trust and plenty of time.

FUN FACTS ABOUT AUGUST
1. August is named after the first emperor of the Roman Empire, Augustus Caesar who was the grandnephew of Julius Caesar.
2. August had only 30 days, while July, which was named after Julius Caesar, had 31 days. However, Augustus did not want his month to have fewer days than Julius Caesar’s month. So, he added a day to August, making it 31 days long, just like July.
3. No other month starts on the same day of the week as August in a regular year for example in 2023 there is no other month that starts on a Tuesday like August. It is only during leap years when February starts on the same day of the week as August.
Happy New Month❤️
