Aspiring to change childrens lives through football

12/09/2026

Congratulations to our U9 Head Coach, Mercy Achieng!

We are extremely proud to welcome back our very own U9 coach, Mercy Achieng, after her incredible assignment with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) U15 Girls Team!

Mercy served as both Assistant Coach and Safeguarding Officer for the team during their training camp and their participation in the CAF African Schools Football Championship in Kigali, Rwanda.

It was no easy task, juggling technical preparation and player welfare, but Mercy rose to the challenge with true dedication and passion for the game. We are so lucky to have her knowledge and experience guiding our young players!

Welcome back, Coach Mercy! 🇰🇪⚽️

This past week, our Technical Director, Stanley Okumbi, undertook the Confederation of African Football (CAF) A Licence refresher course conducted by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).

As the highest coaching certification awarded by CAF, this elite training brought together top Kenyan tacticians, including national team managers and FKF Premier League head coaches, dedicated to sharpening their craft.

With progressive, elite, and dedicated coaching at the helm, the future of Legacy Football is secure!

Most parents mean well when they offer post-match advice, but constant tactical feedback during the drive home can turn a passion into a pressure cooker.

If you want your child to build resilience, confidence, and longevity in football, here is your playbook:

1. Let coaches coach: Tactical critiques belong on the training pitch, not the car ride home.

2. Praise the process, not just wins: Focus on effort, bravery in 1-on-1s, and teamwork over the scoreboard.

3. Say these 5 words: "I love watching you play."

Your role isn't to build a professional at 8 years old; it's to build a love for the game that lasts a lifetime.

Save this post for your next match day. ⚽❤️
