KSSSA all time champions, Kakamega School began the year on a positive note after clinching the Maseno Opens title after defeating St. Mary's Yala 5-4 on post match penalties after 0-0 draw. The 13 times KSSSA champions saw off Kibabii in the semis, Maseno University in the quaters and Maseno school of Nursing in the Round of 16 and went through group stage without conceding a goal.

The following are champions of different Opens games.

Yala Opens - Ebwali Secondary School.
Butere Girls Opens - Butere Girls B.
Maseno Opens - Kakamega School.
Musingu Opens - The rains stopped the final, will be played tomorrow at 4pm between Musingu High Vs Mukumu Boys.

Highway Secondary led by their No. 1 striker Humphrey Aroko in a rigorous training in preparations for KSSSA national championship in Kisii. Highway will open their first Match against St. Joseph, Kitale in group B on Sunday at 3:30pm, considered to be the toughest match of group B.
