Mathari Hospital Football Club was established in 2014. It consists of 30+ registered players currently participating in the Sakaja Cup Tournament and in the Division 2 League registered under Football Kenya Federation. We have the senior team and junior team's. Majority of the plays come from within the Hospital Ward.
We are know as the "Home Of Talent" not only because of football but also due to the brotherhood we have as a team both on and off the field. Our club's motto: ITS HARD TO PLAY AGAINST US. Its a fact since we always play what we train.
Our training ground and sports office are located inside Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital environment. Proudly sponsored by Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital.
Our main aim was/is to empower youths in social and development forums so that they can have a positive view of life through sports.That way, cases of drug abuse and crime within the Hospital Ward have reduced. We thank our management for the support and encouragement they are always giving to the youths both in terms of funding the team and also educating them on matters concerning Mental Health.
In future we hope to reach the Kenya Premier League level and to have most of our players being called out to join other teams due to their discipline and hard work on and off the pitch. Teams that are in better positions than we are both financially and level wise,so that they can improve their standards of living, get exposure and gain experience.
We also thank our fans, family and friends for their support throughout the beginning, from Sub-county level up till now at division 2 league. It's been a tough journey. We also pray for more wins as team and hopefully to get more sponsors to join the club so that we can achieve more even through projects that can support our youths.
May God give us unity, love ,peace, harmony and the patience we require as we embark on this journey. Blessings upon blessings each and everyday. Amen 🙏
