As part of on-going reforms, all state-funded bursaries must be merged into one Fund. Absurdly, today Kenya is running a whooping 54 parallel state-funded bursaries: Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) Bursaries, 47 County Government Bursaries, National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF), Presidential Secondary School Bursary, Kenya Institute of Social Work and Community Development (KISWCD), Presidential Bursary Scheme for Orphans and Vulnerable Students and Higher Education Funding. This will end corruption and depoliticize the funding of education.

Today, at Rwathia in Kangema, Murang'a County, we celebrated the life of a Patriarch Mzee Gerald Gikonyo Kanyuira, CBS, a prominent figure in the business world.

Mzee Gikonyo, who passed on at the age of 110 years, has left a legacy of excellence through resilience.

May his soul Rest in Eternal Peace.
