Angela Okutoyi has once again etched her name into Kenya’s sporting history with a magnificent Singles and Doubles double victory at the ITF W35 Nairobi Tour, right here on home soil.
Her performance didn’t just capture hearts; it challenged long-held narratives about where Kenyan excellence belongs. For decades, the world has celebrated us for dominance on the tracks, marathons, rugby pitches, and in the javelin. Angela’s triumph is a powerful reminder that Kenyan talent is not confined to any one arena, we belong on every global sporting stage, including tennis.
Showcasing tennis of the highest caliber, Angela battled to a hard-fought 2–1 singles victory (6–3, 3–6, 6–3) against Italy’s Martina Colmegna. She then teamed up to overcome Alyssa Reguer (France) and Yufei Ren (China) in the doubles, sealing a historic back-to-back triumph. This was more than a win, it was a statement of resilience, maturity, and competitive excellence.
Angela’s journey sends a clear message to young Kenyan athletes everywhere: your dreams are valid, regardless of the sport you choose. With belief, discipline, and opportunity, Kenyan athletes can rise, compete, and win on the world stage, whether on the track, the pitch, the field, or the tennis court.
Congratulations, Angela, for inspiring a nation, expanding our sporting imagination, and showing the world what Kenyan tennis, and Kenyan athletes, can truly achieve.

Dear beloved fitness pros,
Let’s Talk: The Human Touch in the Age of AI & Fitness Tech
With all the new gadgets and apps out there, smartwatches tracking our every move, AI writing meal plans, and influencers dishing out motivation 24/7, I found myself asking:
“If my watch can track my physical activity and nutrition, ChatGPT can design my workouts, and Instagram influencers can keep me inspired… what do I need a fitness trainer for?”
Sounds like a tough question, right?
But it’s a genuine one, especially in this era where tech is everywhere.
So I’d love to hear your thoughts:
1. What makes you, as a trainer, irreplaceable?
2. Where do you think human connection and professional coaching still win over tech?
3. And how can we, as fitness pros, adapt and still stay relevant in this fast-changing space?
Let’s share ideas, experiences, and maybe even a few laughs as we figure out how to stay human in a digital world.

Dear Fitness Professionals,
Every rep you count, every class you lead, every word of encouragement you give—it matters more than you know.
Behind the sweat and the stretch is something deeper:
You’re not just training bodies—you’re strengthening minds.
You’re not just shaping muscles—you’re helping rebuild confidence.
You’re not just burning calories—you’re igniting hope in people’s lives.
Clients may not always say it, but the impact of your work shows in the father who now plays freely with his kids, the mother who finally feels confident again, the senior citizen who walks with less pain, or the young person who learns discipline and resilience from you.
You are avenues of transformation—physically, emotionally, and mentally.
Let’s keep showing up. The world needs your energy, your passion, and your example.
This week, I celebrate YOU—the silent heroes of health and wellbeing in our communities.
Keep lifting. Keep inspiring. Keep transforming.
Because what you do changes lives.

BE A GOOD COMPASS
Fellow fitness warriors, let’s lead by example: get your rest, recharge your batteries, and remember that self-care isn’t selfish—it’s survival. Because the last thing we need is for our clients to wonder why their coach looks like they’ve been sprinting through life without water or Wi-Fi!
BE THE COMPASS. - The Feelfitness Center
So, be the compass—steady, reliable, and always pointing toward better health and well-being. After all, nobody wants a coach who’s more confused about fitness than a boda boda rider without GPS! Lead boldly, inspire consistently, and remember: the direction you set could change a life—or a wh...

The growth of the Kenyan fitness industry in recent years has been remarkable.
For a long time, fitness professionals were primarily judged by their physical appearance—muscles often seemed like the main qualification. However, the tide has shifted significantly. Today, with the right skills, knowledge, and expertise, fitness professionals are better equipped to collaborate with allied health professionals and the private sector in advancing our mandate for a and nation.
While there is still much to be done in the area of fitness education, the progress so far is truly encouraging. By fostering greater engagement with the government and private sector, the fitness industry can play a critical role in achieving Kenya’s Vision 2030 universal agenda, promoting a healthier population and a stronger economy.
Together, we envision a future where the and industry thrives as a key pillar in public health and national .
