Tyres are a bike’s only point of contact with the surface – so they’re important! They affect grip, handling and comfort, so choosing the right set of tyres for your bike will make a big difference. @ everyone

BMX tires straddle the line between pavement and dirt designs. Although they're used mostly off road, the tracks are often hard-packed dirt where low rolling resistance is important. The tread has to provide optimum speed and traction and grip when you're cornering and accelerating.

For commuting, it would be useful to have a hard wearing tyre so you can ride many miles without wearing out, and a tough rubber to protect against punctures,

It is no coincidence that punctures are more common in wet weather. This isn't just the gods of cycling torturing you, although it can feel like that at times. More grit and debris is washed onto the roads and the water acts as a lubricant for objects penetrating your tyres

One of the most important ways of maximising your biking experience is to upgrade your road bike tyres. A quality tyre can significantly decrease the number of punctures you pick on the road, increase your grip, and reduce your rolling resistance. # Mtb # cycles

Different types of compounds can be used to improve rolling resistance or traction, as such, it's common to see tyres with two or even three compounds in the tread to provide enhanced rolling resistance through the middle of the tyre, but more grip on the edges.1

Rolling resistance is the energy that is lost when the tire is rolling. The main reason for the loss of energy is the constant deformation of the tire. Each bicycle tire should, of course, roll as easily as possible.
