After the Baseball Federation of Kenya failed in the mission to have the national team travel to Jo'burg to attend the Continental qualifier, we look back and see the successes that have been achieved as opposed to groping in the darkness of failed travel.

We look back to the success of hosting the Africa Zone East Olympic pre-qualifier in Lenana School Nairobi from 5-7th April 2019, the first of its kind in Kenyan baseball history.

We look back in having qualified to represent Africa Zone east in the six nations tournament in Jo'burg - Though we did not manage to travel.

We focus on ensuring the teams across the country get solidified and operate appropriately with Team managers, Team captains and Team coaches - Already communication to this effect has been done

We look forward to ensuring that the Branches are autonomous in operation but affiliate with the National Federation

We look forward to having the new Baseball constitution adopted either with or without amendments by leaders from the County branch federations and National Executive committee.

We look forward to having the Federation Branches solidified and County elections taking place soon.

We look forward to align baseball management with the regulations of the Sports Act of 2013 following the call by the CS sports to all federations across the country to ensure this is done asap.

Therefore we call upon all baseball stakeholders from all counties to prepare their county federations and call for elections in liaison with the National Federation which will supervise these elections alongside other observers.

All Counties must move with speed to have this done!

We look forward to partnering with the private sector for the support of baseball in Kenya.

We look forward to see immense growth in Baseball across the country and a growth which every stakeholder will be proud of.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

The Baseball Federation of Kenya (BFK) is undertaking a process of structuring the federation to align it with the requirements of the sports act 2013. In regard to this, the federation during the last National Executive Meeting on 8th April 2019 advised all Baseball formations across the country to regroup in their specific counties and form county branches. The process should include notifying the Baseball Federation of Kenya via email on the following:

1. The Name of the County/ Branch
2. The date of intended branch elections (which are to be supervised by the representatives of the Federation).
3. The names of clubs/ teams actively playing baseball in the County. Each County must have at least one complete team. (Each team should submit details of team members to avoid duplication: Name, age and ID No. where applicable)

After the elections each county will submit names of two officers to be considered as interim members of the National Executive Committee.

This will help county branches to work autonomously but through affiliation with to the National Federation.

Stakeholders from each county MUST agree on the above directions to ensure minimize delays and to help avoid delays on logistics regarding AGMs, SGMs, National elections etc.

The NEC meeting did not set a deadline for the submissions but once we receive the above information from a minimum 8 counties, we shall call a SGM within 21 days.
