CELEBRATING PURPOSE, PARTNERSHIP, AND POSSIBILITY.
On a remarkable evening in Nairobi, the Obuya Cricket Academy Chairperson, Mr Kennedy Obuya, and the Director of Coaching, Mr David Obuya, had the privilege of attending the esteemed Safal Eye in the Wild (SEIW) 2026 Award Gala Dinner hosted at the Trademark Hotel. The event, graciously led by Mr Sarit Shah, Chairman of the Safal MRM Foundation, alongside Ms Siprosa Rabach, Head of the Safal MRM Foundation, was more than a celebration of exceptional photography and environmental conservation—it was a powerful testament to the impact that purpose-driven organisations can have when they unite to uplift people, communities, and the planet.
Through the Safal Eye in the Wild initiative, the Safal MRM Foundation continues to demonstrate that conservation, education, and youth empowerment are deeply interconnected. Under the Foundation's visionary leadership, the initiative is inspiring future generations to become responsible custodians of both the environment and society while championing sustainable development.
For us at Obuya Cricket Academy, the evening held even greater significance as we reflected on a partnership that has transformed lives for well over a decade. Through Mabati Rolling Mills (MRM) and the Safal MRM Foundation, the Safal Group has remained one of our most steadfast partners, believing in the power of sport to unlock opportunity, nurture talent, and change lives.
Their unwavering support has been instrumental in the growth of our programmes—from the annual Obuya Cricket Tournament, which continues to provide a platform for emerging talent, to structured cricket training, coach education programmes, and educational scholarships that have enabled students from underprivileged backgrounds to remain in school while pursuing their dreams. Together, these initiatives have empowered countless young people with opportunities to develop as athletes, scholars, and future leaders, both on and off the cricket field.
Our enduring partnership with the Safal Group is a true reflection of the organisation's unwavering commitment to corporate social responsibility. Their values extend far beyond business operations, finding expression through meaningful investments that uplift communities, protect the environment, promote education, and create sustainable opportunities for future generations. It is this commitment to shared prosperity and community transformation that continues to distinguish Safal Group as a corporate leader with purpose.
At Obuya Cricket Academy, we are immensely grateful for this enduring relationship and the shared vision that continues to transform lives through sport, education, and mentorship. Together, we are building far more than cricketers—we are nurturing confident leaders, inspiring hope, and creating lasting impact within our communities.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Sarit Shah, Ms. Siprosa Rabach, the Safal Group, Mabati Rolling Mills (MRM), and the Safal MRM Foundation for their unwavering support and belief in the potential of young people. Your partnership continues to reaffirm that when organisations invest in youth, they are investing in stronger communities, a healthier environment, and a brighter future for generations to come.

"Success in cricket is not measured by the runs you score or the wickets you take, but by the discipline you build, the character you develop, and the lives you inspire along the way. Great players win matches; great people leave a legacy."
