What an incredible week in Freetown!
I had the privilege of leading an FIH Level 1 refresher course, focused on strengthening coaching foundations and growing the game from the ground up.

The coaches came in ready hungry to learn, eager to improve, and full of passion.
Together, we revisited core principles, shared experiences, and worked on the key needs of Sierra Leone’s hockey community.
A major highlight:
The selection of the first men’s and women’s national teams a truly historic milestone!
The level of talent, athleticism, and desire to succeed was outstanding. The margins were razor-thin, which shows how far the game has come here.

As a coach educator, I’m reminded that our real impact goes beyond drills and tactics — it’s about empowering people, building confidence, and giving back to the sport that shaped us.

Huge thanks to Sierra Leone Hockey, the Sierra Leone Hockey Trust, Hockeyfarm Sports, and the FIH Academy for their continuous support.
Together, we move to greater heights.

2014, dreamt that I will be working and walking with great minds in hockey, then it looked impossible, the dream was soo real, decided to follow it, through pain, ridicule, gatekeepers blocked seen paths, insecurities creeped in, the only sure thing I heard was the dream and believe that purpose is more powerful than plans, divine connection appeared, bridges to the greater heights, but still had to prove my worth by being authentic, and sure of my uniqueness, 11 years later, I am living what I dreamt and dared to follow, though this all Faith in God, the unmerited favor, and great men who saw more than what meets the eyes mentored me, they planted a seed, now it’s a fruit with many seeds which I intentionally plant. # Dream, wake up, follow the dream, persist you will live the dream #

This gentleman opened doors for me, he did not see color, tribe, or nationality , he saw the best in everyone, invested in people and supported with one heart, he was and still a rare kind, keep resting in peace Ally, you planted a seed, in me which became a fruit with many seeds, your legacy lives on. forget people who paved way for you, who held your hand #
