Scared of impromptu speaking? Don’t be…it is easy

This weekend at a family function, I was caught off guard! While sitting and watching the proceedings, I was suddenly called upon to speak – in front of the entire village!

Talk about pressure! (Especially for a Nairobi guy like me)

Here's how I handled it:

1. Breathe & Plan: Instead of panicking, I took a deep breath and quickly formulated a mental plan. This helped me stay calm and collected. (Please note, I am doing this as I am walking)

2. Know Your Audience: Remember, knowing your audience is key! I switched to Swahili, ensuring everyone could understand my message.

3. Embrace the Fun: Finally, I went with the flow. The more natural and relaxed you are, the better you'll connect with your listeners. It's something I always tell my clients too!

Pro Tip: You are unique! No one can replicate your voice and experiences. So, own your story and let it flow.
