New office and storage building for our rehab facility near Nairobi. We also dug a borehole (yes, by hand) so we can be independent.

Kiki feeds kids living on the streets of Nairobi. Volunteers help in cooking and cleaning. This contrasts a bit with HHCK's philosophy, which is to remove the kids off the street, train them and eventually reunite them with family.

Happy and Joyful New Year.
Hand to Hand Community Kenya has grown tremendously over the 8 years that we have been operating. Rescuing children from the streets of Nairobi, helping and guiding children to attend school, and empowering women coming from poorer areas are what we do.

We are interested in developing cottage industries for the poorer section in Kenya. We recently took a day trip to visit a small soap-making factory. We learned a lot about soap we never knew before. Although devoid of fragrance and good looks this brown soap is the purest and most natural. It is wrapped and packaged in long bars sold in grocery and supermarkets as well as tiny kiosks all over the country.

Still running our Saturday Kids program, ages 8-14. The kids love it, and some of them walk more than one hour each way. Besides reviewing schoolwork, we cover topics for life skills and values. They also like kicking a ball in the open fields.

Mealtime at our Rescue Centre, Utawala. The Centre is a unique place, which not only trains young people in various professions, but also places them in proper jobs.
