8 medals in the bag: 🥇1 Gold, 🥈3 Silver, 🥉4 Bronze across freestyle, beach wrestling, junior and gcadet levels.

🏅 Janet Ingwesi led the charge with GOLD in women’s freestyle 70kg and added a SILVER in 75kg beach wrestling.

🥈 Jemimah Nakhumicha fought through injury to claim silver in 65kg freestyle.

The NOCK Executive Committee led by presidennt Shadrack Maluki convened this morning to review and align on key upcoming international competitions that will shape the country’s athlete pathway and global presence.

Among the major events discussed were the ANOCA Zone V Youth Games set to be hosted in Kenya, the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, and the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Senegal as well as other programs.

These competitions represent important milestones for emerging and elite athletes alike providing platforms to compete, grow, and carry the Kenyan flag onto the continental and global stage.

Planning now focuses on strengthening athlete preparation, coordination with federations, and ensuring Team Kenya is ready to perform with pride and excellence.

Seraphino Antao – Sprinting (100 yards)
Antao made history by winning gold in the 100 yards, becoming Kenya’s first Commonwealth Games gold medalist. His victory was significant not only for athletics but also for the confidence it gave Kenyan sport in the early years of independence.
