2 seat lift to the top of the mountain at 3040m

Hi all. I'm back in Kyrgyzstan for another ski season after being away for a few years. Made it up to Karakol for the opening weekend. Spectacular weather and just enough snow to make it very enjoyable.

Seems nothing much has changed since i first came here 9 years ago. Great scenery and good snow but limited runs ans slow lifts. One day someone might make Karakol into what it could be if properly developed. In the meantime it's a great to be in the mountains skiing again.

At Zil...First up..first down. Great snow but very cold. Minus 10 ish

A big snow week coming up. A decent dump coming tonight with maybe 10cm in Bishkek (if you believe the forecast) and then a cold Arctic blast arriving Sunday which could have large amounts of snow in front of it. Friday (if you can escape work) and Saturday will be the days. Sunday is shaping up like an occasion to find a warm bar and talk about how good Saturday was.

Well we have got more than enough snow in Bishkek now to get the season rolling.

At this time Kashka-Suu and Zil have both announced they will open tomorrow. Ak Tash was open last weekend and will be again if you are brave enough to go up the lift. No word on Orlovka or the other local fields yet.

I'm heading to Kashka-suu tomorrow I think.
