🇧🇪 Meet Justine & Naomi from Belgium! 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️

They set off to explore the mountains of Kyrgyzstan on our good old Giant ATX 770s , true classics in the FreeBike fleet.

These bikes have been with us for many years, and we still consider them some of the most reliable bikes we’ve ever had. Simple, tough and proven over countless kilometres in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan. Good old reliable classics! 💪🚲
And once again, they proved themselves on a real adventure.
Justine and Naomi completed their journey without any major problems, including crossing the challenging Kegety Pass. For us, it’s another great example of how a reliable bike and proper preparation can make all the difference on a long-distance journey through Kyrgyzstan.
After their cycling adventure, they left the bikes and their luggage with us and continued exploring Kyrgyzstan in a different way.
We’re really happy to have been a small part of their journey. ❤️
Justine & Naomi, thanks for riding with FreeBike! Enjoy the rest of your adventure in Kyrgyzstan! 🇰🇬

What rider hasn’t dreamed of starting a ride like this at least once?

Karkara. Kyrgyzstan. A helicopter. Your bike on board. 🚁🚵

You take off from the valley, gain altitude and a few minutes later you’re high in the mountains, far away from roads and the usual routes.

You unload your bike. The helicopter takes off.

And then comes that moment.

Just you, your bike and kilometres of riding ahead.

Long descents, fast rolling trails, fresh mountain air, speed and the freedom to choose your own line.

No traffic. No crowds. Just you and the huge mountains of Kyrgyzstan.

This is why we love bikes. Why we travel far from home, search for new routes and look for places where the adventure starts even before the first pedal stroke.

In Kyrgyzstan, this kind of ride is possible.

Fly in by helicopter.

Ride out by bike.

30 days later. Same riders. Different faces. 🇰🇬

Chris & Sara are back.

A month ago, they left to discover Kyrgyzstan by bike. Today they returned tired, dusty and incredibly happy.

They came back with stories about yurts and horses, ancient petroglyphs hidden in the mountains, curious kids they met along the road, and the incredible hospitality of people who welcomed them like family.

They rode through wild valleys and high passes, but what stayed with them most was not the kilometers.

It was the people. The culture. The nomadic spirit. The feeling of Kyrgyzstan.

This is why we love bikepacking.

You leave with a loaded bike.
You come back with something much bigger. 🇰🇬❤️

Chris & Sara, welcome back.

Sometimes it feels like this combine harvester and a bikepacker are doing the same job.
Both crawl uphill.
Both carry a heavy load.
Both know that the best rewards never come easily.
The combine harvests the fields of Kyrgyzstan.
The bikepacker harvests something different, one mountain pass at a time.
Not every kilometre is fun. Sometimes it's just your easiest gear, heavy breathing, and another switchback that never seems to end.
But that's exactly where the real reward is waiting.
The combine heads home with grain.
The bikepacker heads home with stories, new friends, the smell of rain, the taste of glacier water, and another mountain pass that has become part of who they are.
Kyrgyzstan never gives away its passes for free. That's exactly what makes the harvest so valuable. 🌾🏔️🚵
