Dear valued SWEAT team,
Itโs been an interesting week, and there has been a burning question on my mind for some time now. SWEAT brings so much happiness to both me and itโs attendees, itโs hard to let that go. Especially after so much work, building up momentum, stopping just feels like such a shame. ๐คธ๐ฝโโ๏ธ๐ฆ๐
But, that all said, I feel I have a responsibility to make sure Iโm doing my part to keep our community safe. We had been taking extra precautions this past week, but I can see things are progressing in such a way, that that, is not enough. I feel like I must โpauseโ SWEAT sessions for a while. It feels like the right thing to do. ๐ค
SWEAT EXISTS TO KEEP
PEOPLE HAPPY AND HEALTHY. ๐
We intend to do everything we can to maintain exactly that, even if itโs means we need to take a short break. โณ
But fear not, we will be back to train together, very soon. โฅ๏ธ

Friday is our rest-day, at SWEAT๐ฆ
Itโs been a very exciting week for me; announcing the new schedule, starting in a couple of weeks. ๐
We have had so many new attendees, joining the community, and some regular SWEAT addicts SMASHING their personal bests. ๐๐ป๐๐ผโโ๏ธ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐จ๐
It seems obvious, but it has to be said...
SHOWING-UP, is the single most effective way of achieving your fitness goals! The sessions have been full now for months, and I canโt thank you all enough for booking it, committing to it, and bringing โitโ, to every single session. You inspire me!

So what actually happens in a SWEAT class?๐ง๐ฆ
What can be expected?๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธโ
Letโs break it down!๐ธ๐จ
๐๐ปโโ๏ธTHE BODY MOBILISER - a warm-up that makes you injury proof. Activating all your muscles and pumping blood around the body to enhance your performance. Now you're ready to train like an athlete.
๐๐ฝโโ๏ธTHE MOBILITY PART - This section is an extension of the warm-up, but by no means easy. This will involve floor 'flow' movements or animal crawls. Using your body in this way helps not only your mobility but, your joints, mind-muscle connection and balance too. It also uses muscles that are often overlooked or rarely used.
๐THE BENCHMARK EXERCISES - these are timed 1 min challenges that form part of the signature SWEAT programme. These are all about speed and agility. You will do these every session and become very familiar with them. You count your reps and note them down so that you can track your personal progress and aim for new personal bests.
โฅ๏ธTHE HiiT (HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING) - Maximising your heart-rate, rapidly improving recovery time, stamina, fitness and a 'don't stop-won't stop' athletic mindset. This section is short and very effective, utilising only bodyweight movements, non-stop, for three rounds of 90sec with only a 45sec rest (2 - 1: work to rest ratio). SWEATY stuff indeed.
๐THE โCOREโ PART - following strict protocols to develope muscle endurance of the abdominals, obliques and lower back. This section builds mental strength also. Mind - Over - Matter. Expect a lot of variations of planks, crunches and sit-ups etc...
๐๐ผโโ๏ธTHE STRENGTH CIRCUIT - in true cross training style, short rounds with minimal rest. Using bars, dumbbells, kettlebells, boxes and medicine balls to create resistance, and an environment, where your body has no choice but to adapt. In other words: get stronger. Up to seven circuit stations targeting different muscles groups. Including compound exercises and accessory movements. You will certainly feel the pump after this.
๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธTHE STRETCH - a cool down that involves some breath work and deep stretching, to aid muscle repair, avoid tightness and get you ready for your next physical pursuit.
