Aikido is a Japanese form of self-defence and martial art that uses locks, holds, throws, and the opponent's own movements.
The CAA was established in 2002 when an Aikido coach from Japan, sponsored by JICA, was invited to Cambodia. Since then the CAA has grown to have around 200 active members from Cambodia, Japan, France, Australia, The Philippines, USA and other countries. Aikikai Hombu Dojo Seminar held in Phnom Penh was a remarkable experience. Several members from our Siem Reap Aikido group participated, and together we had an enriching time. The opportunity to refine our techniques under the guidance of Umetsu Shihan and Fukaura Sensei was invaluable.
