The Brave New Kiribati International Marathon – is now accepting registrations.

A boutique, limited-entry marathon (max. 50 runners) held in South Tarawa, Kiribati — one of the world’s most remote and climate-exposed nations.

This is not a mass race.

It is a carefully coordinated, internationally supported event focused on:

• responsible organisation
• safety and structure
• community engagement
• meaningful global participation

Within hours of opening, runners from Finland, Austria, USA, India and Switzerland have already secured their spots.

If you are looking for a marathon that is different - logistically unique, globally rare, and intentionally small - this is your invitation.

A small, intentional marathon in one of the most climate-vulnerable places on Earth, where climate change is not a future concept, but daily life.

This project isn’t about fast times or big crowds.

It’s about presence.

About showing up, running together, and listening.

About sport as a bridge between people, places, and stories that deserve to be seen and heard.

Kiribati is where this journey begins.

Not because it’s easy — but because it matters.
