The 11th World Horseback Archery Championships were held from October 2 to October 4, 2015, at Yeongrangho in Sokcho, Gangwon-do, South Korea. The main theme of this event was ‘Horseback Archery, cultural heritage of mankind.’ Freddie attended this competition and interacted with horseback archers from overseas.

Some time ago, Abudzar and Amir from Zawra Archery in Malaysia visited Korea. Freddie prepared Halal food for them and traveled with them to places such as Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and Gangwon-do. Every city in Korea has an archery range. In traditional Korean archery, the target is placed at a distance of 145 meters; the target measures 2.667 meters in height and 2 meters in width. When an arrow hits the target, it is called a *myeongjung*. The arrow falls to the ground rather than embedding itself in the target. Many traditional Korean archers head to the range before sunrise to start their day with archery, enjoying the archery both day and night.

People who love Korean traditions are shooting traditional Korean bows.

This is the Nanjicheon Traditional Archery Field in Seoul, Korea.

Korean traditional bows are used to hit targets at a distance of 145 meters. This distance is the same as the one used to select military officers during the Joseon Dynasty.

Even now, many Koreans shoot traditional bows.
