The Queen of the roost. There is a pecking order for sure. She leads the flock, prime roosting site in the evening, number one with feathers in tact. No one bothers her. She keeps the coop in order at Tropical 🌴 Runaway.
Nothing like gathering fresh eggs for breakfast every day . We have nine chickens which reward us with 8-9 eggs per day. After they have finished laying for the day we let them out to roam and forage the property. When the sun sets lower they all come home to roost . We lock them up for the night. Taking a break. A pitchfork is the best way to remove Sargassum from the beach when it washes up on shore. Nearly a thankless job as it comes back each day. I hope our nesting turtles appreciate it. Two new nests last night. With temperatures in the 30c’s/90f.and humidity at 80% and a body in the 70’s it will take the gas out of you. Time for a cold beer, hanging up the pitchfork for today. Back on Cayman Brac, Tropical Runaway, Cayman Brac. May through November brings calm seas and gentle breezes. Good for what aches and good for your demeanour. Air temperatures match sea temperatures in the mid to high 80’s. Nothing like being by the ocean, no crowd’s here. It’s just about 5:00 o’clock..@
