Happy Weekend! 🌴
I’m grateful to be indoors for this desert workout… crazy weather in Cali this weekend, (you can see how gray it is in the window behind me) & expecting over 5 ft of snow in the mountains today. The desert is rainy, cloudy and COLD! 🥶 time to get moving and warm the hell up 💪🏻💪🏻

Sometimes adversity brings people closer and that was def the case on this retreat as we dodged Cat 4 hurricane Rosalyn & had to evacuate our resort in Punta di Mita on day 2… but even that wasn’t enough to kill our vibe! Days 3 & 4 spent in Puerto Vallarta with these beauties 🧡
Thk u for being such a fantastic host and friend - we really had the BEST time… looking forward to the next adventure! 🙏🙏🙏

Happy Sunday! 🌞
As promised to FB, here's the Pilates reformer version of the Thigh Stretch (see earlier post). It looks similar to the Landmine version, but the force is on the pull phase making it a completely different movement. However, BOTH require neutral position of pelvis & stability of shoulder girdle which is where the challenge lies... hinge only at the knee - no hinging at the hips or flaring in the ribs.🔥

These 2 moves will challenge hip/knee mobility, strength, & BALANCE!... The second move you will definitely feel the work on the static leg, but you have to stay low & hold steady... 🔥
If you don't have access to a reformer, no problem! Try this on a slider, or even a paper plate. Work up to 5-10 reps/side for 1 or 2 sets. If you get to 3 you are a rockstar ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Food for thought... 🤔

Many of the exercises done in the weight room can be done in similar form with the Pilates apparatus.... In my own nerdy way I like to find the similarities such as with this one. The Landmine Thigh Stretch (aka Reverse Nordic Curl) offers more force (concentric) on the push phase of the movement, whereas the Reformer Thigh Stretch offers more force on the pull phase of the movement. Two almost identical looking moves with different goals...

Finding FLOW on this beautiful Friday with the Pilates Upstretch on reformer... 🧡 🔥🧡🔥This is def another one of my favorites & there are a few variations, but for certain it's never perfect (like that last rep haha!) & ALWAYS a work in progress! Lot's going on with this one too. Hamstring length, shoulder girdle stability, pelvic stability to name a few. Great on its own or as a complement to improve upon your other fitness endeavors 💪🏻💪🏻

I've got a secret! .... There is NO secret! No fad, no trend, no crazy diet...😳

It's just simple stuff really. A healthy, fit lifestyle requires a few simple things with consistency over time:

☑️daily movement
☑️quality sleep
☑️daily connection to nature & fresh air
☑️nutrient dense, quality food
☑️H20 💦

While what’s inside of each of those pieces may look different for each individual, and for each individual these pieces may look different at different times in life, being "fit"always comes down to these basic lifestyle habits…
