I am genuinely excited about this weekend's fixture.

It takes me back to my playing days, when the nerves, anticipation, and excitement of a Saturday afternoon kick-off would keep me focused all week. The closer the match got, the longer the days seemed, and I simply couldn't wait for game day to arrive.

Now, while my boots are long retired, those same feelings return whenever Barbados takes the field. I'm incredibly proud of what this group has achieved and can't wait to watch them represent our island once again.

I only wish I could be there in Cayman with the squad, but knowing me, you'll probably still be able to hear me cheering from Barbados!

Playing for the Cayman Islands National Team means far more to me than simply stepping onto a rugby pitch; it represents a lifelong journey that began when I was just six years old. Rugby has been a constant in my life, shaping who I am both on and off the field and teaching me discipline, resilience, and the value of teamwork through every training session, match, and challenge along the way.

What makes this journey even more meaningful is the legacy I am proud to follow. My father, Larry Cayasso, was one of the founders of the Cayman Rugby Football Union, helping to build the foundation of the sport here in the Cayman Islands while also representing our beautiful island on the national stage. Wearing the national jersey is therefore not only a personal achievement, but also a responsibility and an honor. It symbolizes pride in my country and respect for those who came before me, especially my father.

Representing the national team means representing my family, my teammates, and the island itself. It means carrying forward a legacy that has been built through years of dedication and passion. Playing for Cayman means giving everything I have, not only for the result, but for the pride of representing my country and contributing to its story. It reminds me that I am part of something far greater than myself, and that every match is an opportunity to honor the past while helping shape the future of the sport in the place I call home.
