ESL Company Limited was honored to support Save the Children International in Laos and the Ministry of Health in the development of the Community-Based Health and Climate Resilience Action Planning Guide, funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF).
This initiative contributes to strengthening community capacity to prepare for and respond to climate-related health risks in Lao PDR, through strong collaboration among government agencies, development partners, and technical experts working toward a more climate-resilient health system.

📍On December 8, 2025, the ESL team and Save the Children Lao PDR organized a meeting to present a draft Community-Based Health and Climate Resilience Action Planning Guide for climate change adaptation in Oudomxay province. The Deputy Director of the Department of Health of Oudomxay Province and the Health Systems Advisor of Save the Children Laos chaired this meeting.

🎯The main objective of the meeting was to discuss and provide feedback on the draft guide to ensure that the draft guide is robust and applicable at the local community level. At the same time, it sought to build understanding and strengthen communities' capacity to cope with the health impacts of climate change in their local contexts.

👥 The meeting was attended by representatives from provincial departments, district offices, and local communities who are related to the health impacts of climate change in the 4 provinces, including Oudomxay, Luang Prabang, Luang Namtha, and Phongsaly.

✨ This is an important step in developing tools to help local communities be aware of hazards, impacts, and response methods promptly, and help communities plan for response to minimize impacts on their lives and property. Additionally, it enhances the quality of life for targeted communities in remote areas.
