BASE jump Lebanon

BASE jumping in a post apocalyptic world.

Reposting this from the time we represented Lebanon at the airgames. The irony of it is while we do our best to represent our country and shed a positive light on it, we are met with set backs and obstacles to bring us down. Throughout my BASE career i’ve been stopped and banned from jumping 3 different times by 3 different sects of the government. Whats more ironic is the excuse they used all 3 times was that it is for my own safety and they don’t want to see me get hurt. I’m posting this while our country has been under constant bombardment for over 2 years now, people are dying on the streets, others are left homeless. Careers put on hold, future is uncertain. BASE jumping is dangerous, but not nearly as close as living in Lebanon. The difference is with BASE theres at least a reward after the risk.

This reminds me of that scene from the Lion King.

How to film a wingsuit flight on your own 101: use the selfie stick and keep it as far away from you as possible.

And they wonder why i never left this country. With all of its million+ issues, flights like these reminds me of the beauty of Lebanon. This project was initially supposed to be an event exhibition for and but bad luck played its role and couldn’t take off that day. Bad luck still followed as we have a challenging take-off an even worst mid flight winds where i almost fell off my seat, flying into 50+ km/h was not on my bingo card this year but f** was it fun! Wait for the end of the flight for the transition between the snow capped mountain and the landing area and tell me if this is not the best damn landscape u’ve ever seen

Not sure what was more fun. Playing the mystake Avia game while flying, or recreating it in real life. This was another cool concept to shoot. Catching those mini parachutes was tricky at first, but once I got the hang of it, it was smooth sailing!

Golden hour, high altitude and good vibes. These are the kind of jumps that i miss most.
