Today I’m showing 3 important variations to escape back control:
1. No Hooks – Seatbelt Control Before anything… protect your hips.
My elbows stay tight to my thighs so he cannot insert the hooks.
I turn toward the side where his underhook is and start my escape.
2. One Hook In Now it’s more dangerous.
First: protect the neck.
Control the choking hand.
Lean to the hook side, bring my leg over, push the hook down, and transition to the side.
3. Two Hooks In This is the highest risk.
Again, control the hands first.
Close the choking arm.
Create space by moving backward, fall to the underhook side, press the leg down, and turn to escape.
Details win fights.
Small positioning mistakes cost submissions.

Cage control defense is all about positioning and awareness.
One of the biggest mistakes fighters make is allowing their legs and back to stay flat on the cage. When your legs are too close to the cage, your opponent can easily lift and control you. When your back is flat, you become vulnerable to sweeps and takedowns.
Instead, you must stay centered and strong. Keep your legs away from the cage, place your hips against the cage, maintain a strong stance, change levels, and keep your hands ready.
As soon as your opponent attempts the takedown, you must identify which hand has the dominant grip and work to break it. If you cannot insert your hand immediately, you must switch your body position to create space. Once you create that space, insert your first hand, switch again, free the second hand, and turn the position into your advantage by sweeping and reversing the takedown.
Positioning, timing, and patience always win the battle on the cage.

🔥 Technique of the Day: Escaping the Armbar from Guard 🔥
Getting caught in an armbar inside the guard doesn’t mean the fight is over. Staying calm, applying the right pressure, and controlling key positions can help you escape safely.
Step 1: Kill the Hip Movement
Once your opponent locks the armbar, step your leg up and apply pressure forward. This prevents him from arching his hips, which is essential for finishing the submission.
Step 2: Control the Attacking Arm
Secure your trapped arm and bring your second hand to control the opponent’s biceps. This reduces his control and limits his ability to extend your arm.
Step 3: Create Support & Break the Position
Use your free hand to grab the opponent’s thigh for support. From there, start pulling your leg back while maintaining constant pressure forward. The goal is to stop him from lifting his hips and completing the submission.
Armbar escapes are all about timing, pressure, and control.
Stay patient, stay technical, and never panic under pressure.
