The moment I stepped outside the walls of my home for the last ten years, I never once looked back. I had always wanted to travel, explore and roam but I could never find the right time, the right friends or the right opportunity. That’s when it hit me, the time is now! I packed up my belongings, got rid of my excuses and set a date when I would be taking off for my first solo world trip, with no
expiration date. I fought everyday with the urge to stay put, “What if you get lost?” or “What if you run out of money?” or “What if you get homesick and hate where you are?” not once did I ask myself “What if it’s the best decision you’ve ever made?”. Travelling transformed me to a person I didn’t think I would ever become: Brave. With each country, I get to experience a different life for the first time. I learn about cultures I’ve never heard of, I eat food that I can scarcely pronounce, I meet friends that help me connect the dots in my map of life. More importantly, I learn that home is where you find peace. Every day I find solitude in embracing a new environment and the challenges that come with it. I leave each morning with only one goal in mind, to fully embrace the journey of today. Whether that sees me hiking in the woods, fishing by the lake or taking a traveling in an unknown culture, I know that I am equipped to face the mysteries that lay ahead.
