National Cadet Corps is "Future guider of the youth of an emerging nation."
The National Cadet Corps, founded in 1881 in Royal College for the 'Develop discipline through drill’ is responsible for producing future leaders for its motherland,with the motto "Never be unprepared”.
The National Cadet Corps fulfills its responsibility to the nation through two training centers,nine provincial headquarters and thirty battalions.Major General A.P.C.R. Premathilake serves as the current Director of the National Cadet Corps, which consists of 4599 cadet platoons,nearly 160,000 cadets and 3092 officers.
The National Cadet Corps,with a proud history of 145 years paraded for the 78th Independence day parade with the Presidential Colors and Corps Colors,493 Cadets and 14 Officers.
"උදාවන දැයක තාරුණ්යයේ අනාගත මං සලකුණ" ජාතික ශිෂ්යභට බලකායයි.
වර්ෂ 1881 දී කොළඹ රාජකීය විද්යාලයෙන් 'සරඹ කිරීම තුළින් විනය සංවර්ධනය' උදෙසා ඇරඹි ජාතික ශිෂ්යභට බලකාය "සූදානම් නොවී නොසිටිනු" යන ආදර්ශ පාඨය පෙරදැරිව සිය මාතෘ භූමියට අනාගත නායකයන් බිහිකිරීමෙහි ලා මුඛ්ය වගකීම ඉටු කරනු ලබයි.
ජාතික ශිෂ්යභට බලකාය පුහුණු මධ්යස්ථාන දෙකකින්,පළාත් මූලස්ථාන නවයකින්,බලඇණි තිහකින් සිය වගකීම ජාතියට ඉටුකරනු ලබයි.ආරක්ෂක ශිෂ්යභට කණ්ඩ,පොලිස් ශිෂ්යභට කණ්ඩ,පෙර අපරදිග තූර්යවාදක ශිෂ්යභට කණ්ඩ,කණිෂ්ඨ ශිෂ්යභට කණ්ඩ 4599කින් ද ශිෂ්යභට බාලක බාලිකාවන් 160 000කට ආසන්න පිරිසකින් ද නිළධාරී නිළධාරිනීන් 3092 දෙදෙනෙකුගෙන් යුත් ශිෂ්යභට බලකායේ වර්තමාන අධ්යක්ෂවරයා ලෙස මේජර් ජෙනරල් ඒ.පී.සී.ආර්.ප්රේමතිලක මැතිතුමා කටයුතු කරයි.
වර්ෂ 145ක ප්රෞඪ ඉතිහාසයක් ආඩම්බර විය හැකි වර්තමානයක් හා පැහැදිලි අනාගතයක් හිමි ජාතික ශිෂ්යභට බලකාය සිය අභිමානවත් ජනාධිපති වර්ණ හා බලකා වර්ණ සමඟින් 78වන ජාතික නිදහස් දින ආචාර පෙළපාලියේ සිය ආචාරය පිරිනමනු ලැබීය.78වන නිදහස් දින පෙළපාලිය නියෝජනය කරමින් ශිෂ්යභට බාලක බාලිකාවන් 493 දෙනෙක් සහ නිළධාරීන් 14 දෙනෙක් සහභාගී විය.

Celebrating 78 Independence Day 🇱🇰❗️
Independence was never just a gift; it was a journey.
Today, as the Lion Flag flutters across the island, we mark the 78th anniversary of a monumental turning point in our history. On February 4th, 1948, our nation reclaimed its freedom, ending over 130 years of British colonial rule and transitioning from the Crown Colony of Ceylon to a sovereign, independent country.
As we celebrate our 78th Independence Day, we honor the resilience and unity of the leaders and citizens who led the struggle for self-determination. Their vision restored our national dignity and gave us the right to shape our own destiny.
May this milestone inspire a future of unity, peace, and prosperity for all Sri Lankans, both at home and across the globe.
