Asha Foundation's main activity is based around the community of Badowita in Mount Lavinia, Colombo. This is a low income settlement where approximately 18,000 people reside. The area suffers from multiple deprivation including poor housing, high unemployment and lack of opportunities for children and young people, especially those with disabilities and special needs. Our warmest wishes for a peaceful Vesak🙏🏻🌸
Our children had a joyous day creating Vesak cards and lanterns🏮🪷
While the little ones created cards to give out, the older kids from Grade 3 made beautiful lanterns which was lovingly hung in our center. It was a creativity filled day with shares of blessings and laughter!

Avurudu Celebrations at Asha Foundation☀️
We celebrated සූර්ය මංගල්යය’2023 on the 10th of April. It was a joyous gathering amongst the children and teachers. The celebration was filled with spreading the true essence of the festive season through introducing the Avurudu rituals and traditions alongside wearing the traditional Avurudu clothing that enhanced the experience of the festival. The children also participated in Dancing performances and a range of Avurudu games that kept them engaged and happy throughout.
We spread the warmth and happiness of Avurudu to you all and wish you a prosperous happy Sinhala and Tamil new year!
