If 70% of girls skipped any other lesson it would be seen as a crisis🤯

Managing periods is challenging for all girls, regardless of how ‘sporty’ they are, and can lead to long term absences and habits that are difficult to reverse.

We must dismantle the physical and societal barriers that prevent girls taking part in sport while on their period.

Girls’ listening to their bodies should be welcomed and encouraged, but at the same time, they shouldn’t be forced to sit on the sidelines because they’ve not been equipped with the right tools to manage something that affects 50% of the population.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා කාන්තා ක්‍රිකට් කණ්ඩායම පළමු වරට නියෝජනය කිරීමට අවස්ථාව හිමි වූ මිතාලි අයෝධ්‍යා බණ්ඩාර පිළිබඳව රටක් කතා කරන්නට වුණේ බංග්ලාදේශය සමග පැවති විස්සයි 20 තරගාවලියේදී කඩුලු 03ක් දවා ගැනීමට සමත් වීමත් සමගයි.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා වේග පන්දු ක්‍රීඩක ලසිත් මාලිංගගේ ඉරියව්වට සමාන (Slingshot/Round-arm action) පන්දු යැවීමක යෙදෙන ඇය ගැන මුලින්ම කතාබහට ලක්වුණේ 2023 වසරේ දී

කන්තලේ රජ ඇළ විද්‍යාලයේ 11 වන ශ්‍රේණියේ ඉගෙනුම ලබද්දී වසර 2025දී පැවැත්වෙන යොවුන් ලෝක කුසලාන ක්‍රිකට් තරගාවලිය වෙනුවෙන් සූදානම් කළ ශ්‍රී ලංකා කාන්තා ක්‍රිකට් අවුරුදු 19 න් පහළ මූලික සංචිතය‍ට ද ආය ඇතුළත් වීමත් සමගයි.

මිතාලි අයෝධ්‍යා බණ්ඩාර ටෙනිස් බෝල් ක්‍රීඩාවෙන් ලෙදර් පන්දු ක්‍රීඩාවට පිවිසි දක්ෂ වේග පන්දු යවන්නියක් වන අතර මුලින්ම ඇගේ පන්දු යැවීමේ` ඉරියව්ව තිබුණේ සාමාන්‍ය මට්ටමක.

ඒත්, හෙල්ල විසි කිරීමේ ක්‍රීඩාවට යොමු වීම නිසා ඇගේ පන්දු යැවීමේ ඉරියව්ව ලසිත් මාලිංගට සමාන ලෙස වෙනස්ව තිබුණා.

ඇය ශ්‍රී ලංකා ක්‍රිකට් සංවිධානය කළ ටේප් බෝල් තරගාවලියේ දැක්වූ දක්ෂතා මත ත්‍රිකුණාමලය දිස්ත්‍රික් ක්‍රිකට් සංචිතයට තෝරා ගෙන තිබුණා.

“මිතාලි හෙල්ල විසි කිරීමෙන් පාසල් ශූරතා රැසක් දිනාගත් ක්‍රීඩිකාවක්. මේ නිසා වේගයෙන් පන්දුව යොමු කිරීමට ඈ තුළ ඇත්තේ පුදුමාකාර දක්ෂතාවක්. ඇයගේ ඉරියව්ව සිත් ගන්නා සුලු එකක්. හරියට ලසිත් මාලිංග පන්දු යවනවා වගේ. මිතාලිට පැහැදිලි අනාගතයක් තියෙනවා“ නැගෙනහිර පළාත් ක්‍රිකට් පුහුණුකරු නිලන්ත විමලවීර 2023 වසරේදී ඇය පිළිබඳව දක්වා තිබුණේ එවන් අදහසක්.

කවදා හෝ ලසිත් මාලිංග හමුවීමේ අදහසක සිටින මිතාලි අයෝධ්‍යා බණ්ඩාර ලොව විශිෂ්ඨ පන්දුයවන්නිය වනු ඇති බව බොහෝ දෙනාගේ අදහසයි.
