Good 👋 bye to a legend 🙌

Hi everyone. Just a note to say that the first Test of the summer at Lord’s will be my last Test.

It’s been an incredible 20 years representing my country, playing the game I’ve loved since I was a kid. I’m going to miss walking out for England so much. But I know the time is right to step aside and let others realise their dreams just like I got to, because there is no greater feeling.

I couldn’t have done it without the love and support of Daniella, Lola, Ruby and my parents. A huge thank you to them. Also, thank you to the players and coaches who have made this the best job in the world.

I’m excited for the new challenges that lie ahead, as well as filling my days with even more golf.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the years, it’s always meant a lot, even if my face often doesn’t show it.

Sri Lanka T20 Squad For Afghanistan Tour 2024


Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee selected the below-given 16-member squad to take part in the T20I series against Afghanistan. The Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Honorable Harin Fernando, approved the squad. The T20I games will be held on February 17th, 19th, and 21st at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium. The matches will start at 19h00.

. The trophy has been handed over to Kusal Mendis! 3-0 for the hosts. 4-0 overall so far in the tour. Time for the T20Is. The first match will be played on the 17th of this month at 7 pm IST (1.30 pm GMT).

The series is done and dusted but there is still a game to go. Afghanistan will look to avoid the whitewash whereas, Sri Lanka will look to make it 3-0. That game will be played on 14th this month. It will begin at 1430 IST (0900 GMT).
