Colombo Rowing Club

Founded in 1864 the Club has a vast history in the making an is one of the oldest clubs in the country.. In 1898 the first foreign club (Madras) visited.

This group is open for all active members of the Colombo Rowing club.. And also those who have represented the club in major events. The beginning of rowing in the east dates back to around the middle of the last century. Rowing originated in the 1860 and the club was founded in 1864 and the first President was Sir Edward Creasy.
