වසර 15කට පසු බොක්සිං සංගමය වෙනුවෙන් නිල කාර්යාලයක් සහ පුහුණු මධ්‍යස්ථානයක් ස්ථාපිත කිරීම මෙම ගමනේ සුවිශේෂී සන්ධිස්ථානයක්. ජාත්‍යන්තර බොක්සිං සංගමයෙන් (IBA) හිමි වූ රින්ග් (Ring) එකක් නිදහස් කර ගැනීම සඳහා රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 35ක මුදලක් ආයෝජනය කරමින්, ක්‍රීඩකයන්ගේ අනාගතය වෙනුවෙන් ස්ථාවර පදනමක් සකස් කිරීමට බලධාරීන් පියවර ගෙන තිබේ. හමුදා ක්‍රීඩකයන් සහ නිලධාරීන්ගේ ශ්‍රම දායකත්වයෙන් ඉදිවූ මෙම මධ්‍යස්ථානය මෙරට බොක්සිං ක්‍රීඩාවේ ඉදිරි ගමනට මහඟු ශක්තියක් වනු ඇත

කෙසේ වෙතත්, ජාත්‍යන්තර මට්ටමින් දක්ෂතා පෙන්වන ක්‍රීඩකයන්ට වගකිව යුතු බලධාරීන්ගෙන් ලැබිය යුතු නිසි සහයෝගය සහ පිළිගැනීම තවමත් ප්‍රමාණවත් නොවන බවයි බොක්සිං සංගමයේ සභාපතිවරයා අවධාරණය කරන්නේ. තායිලන්තයේ පැවති යොවුන් ශූරතාවලියට සහභාගී වීමට තිබූ අවස්ථාව ගුවන් යානා නොමැති වීම වැනි බාහිර හේතූන් මත අහිමි වුවද, පවතින ඕනෑම බාධකයක් හමුවේ ක්‍රීඩකයන්ගේ අභිමන වෙනුවෙන් පෙනී සිටින බව පාලන අධිකාරිය වැඩිදුරටත් ප්‍රකාශ කරයි.

COLOMBO – Sri Lankan boxing has officially entered a transformative new chapter, marking the end of a 15-year hiatus from direct Ministry of Sports patronage. The Boxing Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) has formally extended its gratitude to the Honorable Minister of Sports, Sunil Gamage, for his pivotal role in bringing the sport back under the Ministry’s protective wing—a move expected to provide much-needed stability and resources for local pugilists.
Boxing, a cornerstone of the Olympic movement, remains one of the few disciplines where Sri Lanka holds a realistic prospect for international podium finishes. Under the new leadership of BASL President Anuruddha Shanaka Bandara and General Secretary M.A.L.
