IRONMAN 70.3 Colombo brought in athletes from over 51 countries to take up the Colombo Challenge and that’s what they did 👏 👏👏

Colombo is known for its iconic pubs and vibrant nightlife. 🍸
Many of the city’s early pubs were established during the British colonial era as part of colonial hotels, serving travellers and visitors passing through the island.
Some of Colombo’s oldest buildings still host legendary bars today — the Galle Face Hotel with Inn on the Green and 1864 Limited Edition, while the Dutch Hospital, Hospital Street, and Chatham Street offer a cluster of lively, theme-based pubs.
Don’t miss the hotel pubs either — Cheers Pub at Cinnamon Grand, Ahasa at ITC Ratnadipa, and Capital Bar & Grill at Shangri-La Colombo.

Just a 30-minute walk from Shangri-La, along Baron Jayathilake Mawatha towards the President’s House and Main Street, brings you to the historic Colombo Dutch Museum in the heart of Pettah, the bustling colorful city market.

Housed in a two-storey colonnaded building on Prince Street, the museum dates back to the Dutch occupation of Colombo. Once the residence of the Governor of Dutch Ceylon, the building has served as barracks, a police training school, and even the streets of Pettah Post Office before opening as a museum in 1982.

The walk itself is part of the experience. through bustling markets, historic streets, and everyday Colombo life.
