While the final result didn’t go our way, this incredible journey has earned us promotion to the All Island Division 1, Marking another historic achievement for our football program 📈

Facing a St. Mary's College side, the match turned into a true battle, full of energy, passion, and non-stop action. Both teams gave everything on the pitch, refusing to give up even for a second. Goals, pressure, and moments of brilliance kept the crowd on edge as the game ended 2-2 after full time ⚽️⚔️

In the final moments, under intense pressure, De Mazenod College showed nerves of steel in the penalty shootout. With Confidence, Composure & Unstoppable spirit, they sealed a 4-2 victory turning dreams into reality and lifting the championship in style 💙✨

De Mazenod College Kandana showcased remarkable skill and determination throughout the Ministry of Education’s All Island Football Tournament 2024, Ultimately finishing as the Quarter Final in the U-20 category for the All Island.

The road to the quarter final was a testament to De Mazenod College’s resilience and teamwork. They began their campaign with a 4-1 victory over Royal College Polonnaruwa in the Round of Qualified followed by a narrow 5-2 win against Kingswood College Kandy in the pre-quarterfinals. In the quarter finals, De Mazenod College faced Al Aqsa National College Puttalam, in a tense match that ended 0-0 in regular time. The game was decided by penalties, where De Mazenod College fell with a 0-3 score unfortunately.

Although they finished as Quarter final, De Mazenod College Kandana’s nominated as one of the best top last 8 football team in all island 👑⚽️🔥
Their performance throughout the tournament has solidified their reputation as one of the top teams in the Sri Lanka, and they will surely be a force to reckon with in the upcoming All Island Tournament
