What a tournament it has been!

We came into the Freedom 250 Men’s Double Knockout Tournament ready to give everything we had. Every game tested us, and every player stepped up when it mattered. We are proud to finish the tournament as one of the Best Four teams.

Our Journey:
✅ Match 1: Royal Blues 8–4 Frontiers (Mora Baseball)
✅ Match 2: Royal Blues 2–0 DS Knights
❌ Match 3: Royal Blues 5–11 Sri Lanka Navy
✅ Match 4: Royal Blues 5–4 Frontiers (Mora Baseball)
❌ Match 5: Royal Blues 7–10 Sri Lanka Air Force

While the journey ends here, we’re proud of what we achieved. We fought hard, backed each other every step of the way, and had the opportunity to compete against some of the best teams in Sri Lanka.

A big thank you to our players, coach, supporters, families, and everyone who cheered us on throughout the tournament. Your support means everything to us.

We’ll take the lessons, build on this experience, and come back stronger.

⚾️ Royal Blues Hold Off Frontiers For Victory ⚾️

Despite seeing their 4-run lead whittled down by the end, Royal Blues still held off for a 5-4 victory on Sunday. Frontiers closed the gap by scoring on a single, a single, and a single.

A single by Wathsalya put Royal Blues on the board in the top of the first.

Arunod grounded into a fielder's choice, which helped Frontiers tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

Royal Blues took the lead, 4-1, in the top of the second thanks to singles by Wathsalya, and Govindu.

Royal Blues added one run in the third. Danuketh singled to the right side of the infield, making the score 5-1.

Ravindu started the game for Royal Blues. The starter gave up five hits and three runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking five. Bhanuka stepped on the mound first for Frontiers. The starter allowed three hits and one run (zero earned) over one inning, striking out none and walking none. Govindu appeared in relief for Royal Blues.

Govindu and Wathsalya were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Royal Blues. Wathsalya went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Royal Blues in hits. Royal Blues turned two double plays in the game.

Arunod and Dinurj were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Frontiers while hitting back-to-back. Nethindu, Dulsika, and Dinurj each drove in one run for Frontiers. Nethindu paced Frontiers with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Nethindu stole three bases. Frontiers ran wild on the base paths, amassing four stolen bases for the game.
