Official Statement: Team Name Change Announcement
We are excited to announce that, effective immediately, our team will be undergoing a name change. What was formerly known as Global Pharma FC will now be proudly called Borough FC.
This change reflects our growth, a renewed vision, and a deeper connection to our community and core values. While our name is changing, our commitment to excellence, teamwork, and the spirit of the game remains stronger than ever.
Club President Sylvanus Morris shared his thoughts on the change:
“This rebranding marks more than just a new name — it’s a new beginning. Borough FC represents who we are today and where we’re headed tomorrow. We’re building something bigger than football — we’re building identity, pride, and legacy.”
We extend our sincere thanks to our fans, partners, and community for their continued support as we begin this exciting new chapter.
Together, we move forward — new name, same passion.
Welcome to the new era of Borough Football Club.

Global Pharma FC Responds to Bukonjadeh Group of Companies: Clarifies Sponsorship, Requests Retraction of Defamatory Allegations
MONROVIA, Liberia – Global Pharma Football Club today issued a robust response to public statements made by the Bukonjadeh Group of Companies regarding their sponsorship agreement, specifically addressing a report in Frontpage Africa quoting Bukonjadeh's CEO on the termination of their deal.
Global Pharma FC categorically refutes the assertion of a sponsorship "termination." The club wishes to clarify that its one-year agreement with Bukonjadeh Group of Companies reached its natural conclusion and was, therefore, not renewed, rather than being terminated prematurely.
"Our one-year partnership with the Bukonjadeh Group of Companies concluded as per its agreed terms," stated Sylvanus Kelvin Morris, President of Global Pharma FC. "The decision to not renew the sponsorship was a regular operational review. It is misleading and inaccurate to present this as a termination."
The Frontpage Africa report further quoted the CEO of Bukonjadeh Group of Companies as stating that the decision to "terminate" the contract was due to "constant disrespect" shown towards a board member of their company. President Morris vehemently challenges this grave accusation.
"I am utterly dismayed and find these allegations of disrespect to be completely false and without a shred of evidence," Morris asserted. "I, Sylvanus Kelvin Morris, President of Global Pharma FC, unequivocally deny ever disrespecting any board member or representative of the Bukonjadeh Group of Companies. I challenge the Bukonjadeh Group of Companies to provide specific information and verifiable proof of any instance where I, or any member of Global Pharma FC, disrespected anyone acting in their capacity as Board Member of the entity and was disrespected by us”.
President Morris also expressed strong disapproval of Bukonjadeh Group's decision to air these unsubstantiated claims in the public domain. "Taking such sensitive and unverified issues to the press, particularly with defamatory accusations, is highly unprofessional and regrettable," he added. "For a CEO who has always preached the importance of friendship, It is not conducive to maintaining professional relations or resolving matters constructively."
Global Pharma FC views these false and damaging statements as a serious attack on the integrity of its leadership and the club as a whole.
Global Pharma FC requests a full, public, and unequivocal retraction of these defamatory statements from the Bukonjadeh Group of Companies. “For over six years, I have been involved with this company, I have participated in almost all of their activities and for them to try to bring me or my team to public ridicule without investigation is unwarranted and disappointing. I can only hope that they adhere to our request for the sake of what once existed between us, as we are under obligation to protect our reputation, brand, and my personal integrity.” Morris stated.
Global Pharma FC remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and sportsmanship within Liberian football.
