Liberian international Prince Martor has returned to his club, Gençlerbirliği, after failing to play a single minute for Liberia in their two AFCON qualifying matches against Rwanda and Mali.

Despite being part of the Lone Star squad, Martor remained an unused substitute in both matches.

Upon returning to club duty, however, the winger was immediately restored to the starting lineup for Gençlerbirliği.

Martor’s situation has once again raised questions about Liberia’s utilization of its attacking options, especially after the Lone Star suffered back-to-back defeats in the qualifiers.

The draw for the inaugural FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival 2026 has been completed, with Liberia 🇱🇷 drawn into Group F alongside Belize 🇧🇿, Costa Rica 🇨🇷, Curaçao 🇨🇼, Morocco 🇲🇦 and the Philippines 🇵🇭.

🇦🇿 The tournament will take place in Azerbaijan from October 22–31, 2026, bringing together 191 countries and territories across 32 groups.

Tournament Format
• 8v8 football
• 20-minute halves
• Players born in 2011–2012
• Focus on player development and international match experience

The competition is designed to give young footballers valuable international exposure and development opportunities before they progress to the U-17 level.

Liberia’s Development Pathway

The Liberia Football Association (LFA) continues to strengthen grassroots football through its Technical Development Scheme (TDS), with scouting tours recently conducted across several counties.

Selected talents are now based at the George Weah Technical Center in Careysburg, where they are training, learning and developing together while continuing their education.

🚨 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 🚨

Liberia has handed a late call-up to striker Emmanuel Flomo ahead of the 2027 AFCON qualifiers against Rwanda 🇷🇼 and Mali 🇲🇱.

Flomo was called up after Joseph Melto Quiah became unavailable due to paperwork issues.

The Al Hilal forward impressed during the 2025/26 BK Pro League season, winning the Best Young Player award and scoring 12 league goals.

He is expected to join the Lone Star delegation in Kigali ahead of the September 25 clash with Rwanda and the September 29 meeting with Mali.

Ralph Weah has been left out of Liberia’s squad for the 2027 AFCON Qualifiers against Rwanda 🇷🇼 and Mali 🇲🇱, despite his impressive performances in the recently concluded Bettomax Champions Cup.

The FC Bea Mountain star was one of the standout players and walked away with the Bettomax MVP award.
