Liberian goalkeeper Derrick Julu made his long-awaited debut for Nigerian side Ikorodu City in Round 22 of the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) on Sunday.

The former Watanga SC shot-stopper delivered an impressive performance between the posts despite conceding a late goal, as Ikorodu City suffered a narrow 1–0 away defeat to El-Kanemi Warriors, with the decisive strike coming in the 90th minute.

Julu, 23, joined the NPFL club in August 2025 from Watanga SC on a two-year contract and showed clear signs of promise in his first competitive outing for the Lagos-based side.
