President Oliver T. Davis writes ✍️✍️

My concern over the Removal of Illegal occupants from the Sapo National Park.

I wholeheartedly appreciates the government of Liberia for their harmless eviction of illegal occupants from the Sapo National Park through its Joint Security Forces.

At the same time, I must acknowledge the commitment of our people for being law abiding and peacefully vacating the Park in adherence to Government's mandate.

Therefore, as a Community, we're now moved to raise these valid Concerns through national government which aims at promoting peace, security and development.

Compensation for Evicted Individuals: I wish to emphasize the need for compensation to facilitate smooth recovery of assets and support those affected by the eviction. This would help alleviate potential hardships and ensure a more humane approach to conservation efforts.

Repatriation of Evicted Individuals: To prevent overcrowding and potential security issues in surrounding communities, I recommends repatriating evicted individuals to their places of origin. This could help mitigate risks such as criminal activities and unlawful acts.

Provision of Basic Needs and Jobs: I suggests that providing jobs, sanitation, healthcare, educational support, and infrastructure development in host communities would not only improve living standards but also encourage residents to support conservation efforts. By engaging local communities in park protection, the FDA could benefit from additional eyes and ears on the ground to monitor and report unauthorized activities.

Decentralization of Eviction Process: Given that 75% of the park is situated on the Sapo land, SYDAL recommends decentralizing the eviction process to address the specific needs and concerns of different communities. This approach acknowledges the park's geographical span across multiple counties, including River Gee, Grand Gedeh, and Sinoe.

Revisiting the Art that created the Park and Memorandum of Understanding: it will be prudent enough to revisit those agreements signed between our people and the government to ensure that the current generations be aware of the "Dos and Don'ts" readjust the boundaries of the Park and be acknowledge of those benefits the establishment of the Park intended bringing to host communities.

To our people, I encouraged all of us embrace and support the effort of FDA in protecting the Sapo National Park as its represents the thoughtfulness of our forefathers to give us brighter futures through natural resources.

We hope and pray that the national Government seek the welfare and well-being of our Community by providing healthcare, educational support, jobs creation, agriculture and infrastructural developments.

His Excellency President Oliver T Davis writes ✍️✍️

I shared tears upon seeing how overcrowded is the Sapo National Park that once used to be a sacred place for our ancestors but again upon seeing these deplorable structures been considered as Learning centers in this modern era, most especially in our Communities that hosting Liberia's highest heritage I cried our loud 😭

Moving forward we will be Controversy in speaking against the illegal occupants/ unauthorized operation in the Sapo National Park.

We will kick start a journey to get Nation Government attention and to revisit the act that created this Park..

What are those things within the agreement that encouraged our people to give their forest?

What do we expect to benefit as Community?

What are Forestry's Social Cooperate responsibilities?

What do the Agreement say about Jobs Empowerment, Education, Health, Sanitation, Agricultural Support and others Community initiatives?

Watch out for our approaches in the coming days!!

As we engaged our people and they're now leaving the Park peacefully, the National Government must act in accordance!!

Mr. Oliver T. Davis,
President ,
Sarpo Youth Development Association of Liberia (SYDAL),
Liberia,
Monrovia

Dear Mr. Oliver T. Davis,

Subject: Letter Of Resignation

I hope this letter finds you well.

I am writing to formally resign from my position as Assistant Secretary of the Sarpo Youth Development Association of Liberia (SYDAL), effective June 6, 2025.

After much consideration, I have made this decision due to my increasing personal engagements, which have made it challenging to dedicate the time and energy required for my role within SYDAL. It has been a great honor to serve in this capacity, and I deeply value the experiences and relationships I have built during my tenure.

Throughout my time with SYDAL, I have participated in various activities aimed at empowering the youth of our community. I have always been passionate about our mission. However, I have come to realize that in order to balance my personal and professional obligations, stepping down is necessary.

I am committed to ensuring a smooth transition and am more than willing to assist in handing over my responsibilities to whoever will take on the role next. Please let me know how I can help make this process easier.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to you and the entire SYDAL team for your support and understanding. I look forward to staying connected and continuing to support SYDAL in other capacities in the future.

Thank you once again, and I wish SYDAL all the best in its future endeavors.

Sincerely,

Frank Bishop Quiah"
