Perth Glory U20 Set for Crucial Clash Against Bayswater City U23
The Western Australian Premier League U23 reaches its final first-phase fixture this weekend, with Perth Glory U20 welcoming Bayswater City U23 to the Sam Kerr Football Stadium on Saturday, 16 May 2026 at 1:00 PM (WA time).
Glory’s squad will be bolstered by the return of Damien Jallah, fresh from London after representing Liberia TDS U17/U20, alongside teammate Achnaf Sayon, who has just completed duty with the Australia U17 national team. They will face off against Ralph Saywray of Bayswater City SC in what promises to be a high-stakes encounter.
Perth Glory currently sit top of the table, having won all nine (9) of their matches in the first phase, while Bayswater hold third place. The two sides last met in league action when Jallah was with Gwelup Croatia and Saywray represented Gosnells City SC. Although Bayswater fell to Glory in a preseason friendly earlier this year, Saturday’s fixture is expected to be fiercely contested, with Glory’s perfect record adding extra pressure to the occasion.

BREAKING 🚨
FC Fassell CEO Cassell Kuoh has confirmed his disqualification from the Liberia Football Association presidency. However, he has vowed to challenge the decision through legal channels, framing it as a test of resilience rather than a setback to his reform agenda.

Cassell Kuoh’s full statement on the LFA disqualification.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
STATEMENT BY MR. CASSELL A. KUOH
On the eve of the Liberia Football Association elections, I consider it both necessary and appropriate to address the football community and the Liberian public regarding recent developments affecting my candidacy.
I have taken note of the decision to disqualify my application for the presidency of the LFA. While I respectfully disagree with this decision, I wish to state, in clear and unequivocal terms, that I remain committed to pursuing all lawful and available remedial processes to ensure that my fundamental rights are protected and not subjected to arbitrary limitation or confined to the timelines of an electoral cycle.
The principles at stake extend beyond any single election or interpretation by organs of those who fear me. They go to the very core of fairness, legality, and the integrity of our football governance system.
That said, I DO NOT view this moment as a setback.
As someone whose life journey has been defined by perseverance, resilience, and an unwavering belief in purpose, I regard this as yet another test of my resolve and commitment to meaningful change in Liberian football. I have faced challenges before and overcome them. This moment is no different. If anything, I stand today more focused, more determined, and even more inspired, buoyed by the overwhelming support and encouragement I continue to receive from across the football community and beyond.
I wish to extend my deepest gratitude to my supporters, whose faith has remained steadfast; my family, whose strength continues to anchor me; my team, whose dedication has been unwavering; and the many stakeholders and members of the public who believe in this vision for a better future for Liberian football.
Your support is not taken for granted.
On this Unification Day, I am particularly reminded of the values that bind us together as a people. Sports, football in particular, has always served as a powerful force for unity, bringing together individuals, communities, and nations across lines that would otherwise divide us.
I therefore call on all stakeholders in Liberian football to remain calm, to remain united, and to continue to engage with one another in a spirit of respect and shared purpose. Unity is not merely symbolic; it is the foundation upon which the future of our game must be built.
My commitment to the development, reform, and elevation of Liberian football remains absolute. This vision does not begin or end with an election. It is a continuing responsibility.
I remain hopeful. I remain resolute. And I remain committed to the cause.

Cassell A. Kuoh

🚨Statement Incident at Tusa Field, Gardnersville
I am writing to share my view of the incident that occurred yesterday afternoon at Tusa Field during the Watanga vs. Discoveries match.
Elijah Fahn is a diehard football supporter who follows league games across locations and even abroad. He often criticizes players publicly for example, on Facebook Live. On one of his Lives he once told player Jusu o Dukuly to “go join JZyNO to sell eggs instead of playing football.” Dukuly did not respond at the time.
The incident
Yesterday Dukuly attended the match even though he was suspended after receiving three yellow cards. A spectator asked Dukuly why he wasn’t playing; Dukuly replied that he was on a card.
Elijah then provoked Dukuly, criticizing him for getting cards frequently. Dukuly walked toward his team’s staff Roland Bondorkai's area.
Elijah continued, and when Dukuly asked him to stop provoking him, Elijah insisted he had the right to speak as a fan.
The exchange escalated: Elijah insulted Dukuly’s mother, at which point Dukuly struck Elijah. This physical retaliation was wrong.
According to eyewitnesses, Marcus R Toweh Elijah’s local manager then intervened and allegedly supplied stones to disadvantaged youths to attack Dukuly and reportedly stood at the gate to prevent his leaving.
Watanga PRO Roland Bandorkai was injured during the disturbance, and Elijah allegedly threw stones at the team bus as well. These additional actions, if true, are serious and criminal.
Physical violence by a player against a fan is unacceptable and should be condemned. Dukuly was wrong to assault Elijah.
Provocation and abusive, personal insults by fans are also unacceptable. Elijah’s repeated face to face provocations and the insult to Dukuly’s mother were inappropriate.
If it is true that Marcus Toweh paid youths to attack the player and blocked his exit, that is criminal and must be investigated.
My Recommended Actions
Immediate, impartial investigation by the club and league, and if necessary by the police.
Medical check and documentation of injuries for everyone harmed Dukuly, Elijah, PRO Bondorkai, others
Temporary suspension or restriction for anyone found to have incited or committed violence.
Mandatory mediation, anger-management support for those involved, and clear fan conduct guidelines enforced by clubs and the league.
Both Elijah and Jusu need to be suspended
Public statement from Elijah’s management and from Watanga FC acknowledging the incident and outlining steps being taken.
My Conclusion
I do not support violence against anyone. Both the player and the fan acted wrongly in this episode. Fans must stop face-to-face provocation and insults; players must not respond with violence. Everyone who loves the game should work to keep stadiums safe and respectful.
Thank you,

Liberia’s Ministry of Youth and Sports Faces Criticism Over Players’ Appearance in China
The Ministry of Youth and Sports is under public scrutiny following the participation of Liberia’s National County Sports Meet (NCSM) players in the launching ceremony of the Guizhou Village Super League Friendly Matches in China.
Images and reports from the event have sparked frustration among Liberians, who say the players’ appearance did not reflect proper preparation or national pride.
Witnesses noted that some athletes arrived at the modern gymnasium dressed in jeans, slippers, and casual shirts instead of appropriate sportswear such as sneakers, shorts, and athletic tops.
Critics argue that the Ministry failed to provide jerseys, tracksuits, or any clear identification that the players represented Liberia. While the promotion of local clothing brand I GET TIME SEH was acknowledged, many citizens believe it should have been incorporated under official sports attire rather than replacing it.
“This was a missed opportunity to showcase Liberia with dignity,” one concerned citizen remarked. “Our athletes deserve better planning and representation when they step onto the international stage.”
The incident has left many Liberians disappointed, with calls growing for Minister Cornelia Wonkerleh Kruah to take immediate action to prevent future embarrassment.
Citizens are urging the Ministry to ensure that athletes are properly equipped and presented when representing the nation abroad.

PRESS STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FC Fassell
FC Fassell confirms that it has formally submitted an Ethics Complaint and Petition for Disqualification to the Elections Committee of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) concerning the candidacy of Mr. Mustapha I. Raji.
This action is grounded in the integrity requirements set out under the LFA Electoral framework and applicable FIFA regulations, which clearly prohibit the eligibility of candidates who have been subjected to disciplinary sanctions by a sporting body.
Our submission raises serious integrity concerns supported by documented records, including a two-year ban from all football-related activities imposed in September 1998 for the falsification of player registration documents in the Third Division playoff, as well as a subsequent expulsion, from the LFA Executive Committee in 2008 for misconduct, among other issues. These are not minor or technical matters. They go to the very heart of integrity, credibility, and trust in football governance.
We wish to emphasize that this action is a necessary step to uphold the rule of law and to ensure that the standards governing Liberian football are respected and enforced without exception.
FC Fassell remains fully committed to a fair, transparent, and credible electoral process. We respectfully call on the Elections Committee to discharge its mandate independently, diligently, and strictly in accordance with the governing statutes and regulations.
We urge all stakeholders to remain calm, respect the process, and allow the rule of law to prevail.

Why Raji should be rejected by the LFA elections committee?
Danesius Marteh, [email protected]/+231776236528 (WhatsApp)
At least 29 candidates have applied to contest for various positions when the Liberia Football Association (LFA) holds an elective congress in Paynesville on 15 May.
Delegates will elect a president and 13 executive committee members while the president will appoint two coopted members to complete the executive body.
Aspirants will have to undergo an integrity check in addition to requirements laid down in the statutes.
One of the questions asked is “Has a sport’s governing body ever imposed any disciplinary or similar sanction or measure on you in the past for actions which amount to a violation of the rules of conduct set out in part II section 5 of the FIFA Code of Ethics?”
Raji’s documented history of fraud
LFA President Mustapha Ishola Raji has a documented history of fraud in football.
On 8 November 2021, Raji claimed that Solomon Mudege, Fifa head of development programs in Africa, wrote the executive committee about a planned meeting meant to either suspend or expel him after he had blackmailed then LFA Vice Presidents Sekou Konneh (Prof.) and Wilmot F. Smith to Fifa but it turned out to be a malicious and black because he wrote the letter with Mudege’s signature forged.
On the day of the executive committee meeting at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium, Raji locked himself up nearly the whole day and was confronted by Konneh about his conspicuous absence.
During the meeting, he was asked to show the paper trails of the purported letter but couldn’t do so.
Isaac Montgomery was the secretary-general and can confirm my explanation.
Raji was banned for two years by the LFA in September 1998 for forging the registration documents of players from Genesis FC for Barcelona FC (now LISCR FC) in a third division play-off against Ajami Stars during the regime of President Edwin Melvin Snowe, now senator of Bomi County.
Others banned for two years with Raji were Christopher Kipi Doh (Coach 88) and John Acquoi Mulbah from all football activities for falsifying the playing documents of Bobby Johnson alias (Mission), Bobby Kamara alias (Debbah) and Emmanuel Jules Bucande alias (Mon' Amie) a Burkinabe, who Raji fraudulently registered as a Liberian to play For Barcelona in a second division play-off.
Ajami Star filed a protest and executive committee Alexander Jaeploe led a committee that investigated the protest.
During the hearing, Milton Shares, who was captain of Genesis FC (later became Georgia FC) testified that Barcelona didn't acquire those players legally and provided the original playing cards to proof they were still players contracted with Genesis FC.
Barcelona had qualified 2-1 on aggregate over Ajami Stars, having lost the first 1-0 at Tusa field at home and won 2-0 away at the BTC Barrack sports pitch.
Based on their findings, the committee scrapped off the playoff championship from Barcelona, condemned it to the third division and banned Raji from all football activities for two years after establishing he was a fraud.
Under the regime of Cllr. Izetta Sumbo Wesley, Raji was expelled from all football related activities by the executive committee for malfeasance and act of gangsterism.
The Exco’s decision to expel Raji was also approved by congress in 2008 following an arbitration process that was supervised by the Liberia National Olympics Committee with Philipbert Browne as president.
Raji forged his academic credentials during the 2018 LFA elections and lied that he had graduated from Corinthian Colleges Incorporated Everest College in the United States of America but it turned out to be a shameful disgrace.
Raji wilfully misled the government, Fifa and Caf about the LFA headquarters total cost.
He intentionally understated the amount to US$1.5 million in an attempt to cover-up for the misapplication of the funds but the actual cost is US$1.89 million, which was also established in the 2023/2024 audit report.
Raji made history by becoming the first FA President to preside over a project and dedicate it officially without an actual total cost.
He is an enabler, a manipulator, a narcissist and a desperado, who will do anything and everything for a third term.
The elections committee, under the stewardship of Cllr. Meo Beyan, should disqualify Raji for the factual reasons mentioned above.
