The 3rd and final day was all about the mighty river valley and various smaller tributaries that required careful navigation and good technical skills 🚴🏼♀️ 🚴🏼♀️ Thanks to the community trail maintenance initiative we were able to descend on what is otherwise an unrideable cattle trail 🙏🏼 The new trail on the South-Eastern side of the loop was a scenic reward after plenty of climbing. Total distance: 50km, elevation 1450m 🇱🇸 Well done to all riders who completed this years Lesotho Sky Event!

The second day was one of the most beautiful, but also the toughest with 90km distance and 1800m elevation. The new route around "Fuku Fuku" mountain took riders on remote sections between Ha Makhakhe and Ha Mosala that have never featured before in any Lesotho Sky event. Spare batteries for our E-Bikers were available at both water points. The surprise visitor at the start was the Minister of Sports, Tourism & Culture, who joined on bicycle for the first couple of km of the day 💪🏾 😎 🇱🇸

The first Lesotho Sky 2024 day served as introduction to technical single trails and GPS navigation around and the escarpment: a shorter 43km route was filled with plenty of action and challenging sections for riders to tackle. Thank you to Pick n Pay Lesotho for providing Water Point food and nutrition to keep the energy levels high!

Rain in Lesotho is more than just a downpour; it’s life, growth, and renewal. 🌧️💧 As the drops dance across the mountains, they breathe life into the valleys and fill the rivers that sustain communities. For mountain bikers this means it's important to come prepared for unpredictable mountain weather ☔️ ⚙️ 🔧
