ROAD TO NIGERIA 2026 BEGINS!

The Lesotho Cricket Association (LCA) has officially launched a three-month High-Performance Training Camp running from 1 July to 30 September 2026 as the national team intensifies preparations for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa Qualifiers, to be held in Nigeria this October.

Under the leadership of National Team Head Coach Alex Mavhiko, the squad is undergoing intensive full-time training from morning to evening to sharpen fitness, technical skills and tactical awareness ahead of the continental qualifiers.

LCA President Heads to ICC Annual Conference in Scotland

The Lesotho Cricket Association (LCA) is proud to announce that its President, Mr. Vijayakumar Bhaskaran, will represent Lesotho at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Annual Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland, from 8–11 July 2026.

The conference brings together cricket leaders from across the world to discuss the future of the game, governance, and global development initiatives.

This year's conference is particularly significant as cricket continues its journey towards the Olympic Games, having been accepted as one of the Olympic sports. This milestone presents exciting opportunities for the growth of cricket in emerging nations such as Lesotho.

LCA will also showcase Lesotho's success in accessing Olympic Solidarity Funding through a case study highlighting support received under the Team Support Grant for Women's Cricket and the Technical Course for Coaches and Athletes' Entourage. This recognition reflects Lesotho's commitment to developing cricket at all levels.

We wish Mr. Bhaskaran a successful conference as he proudly represents Lesotho on the global cricket stage.

LESOTHO FINISH TRI-NATIONS SERIES WITH VICTORY OVER ESWATINI

The Lesotho Senior Men's National Cricket Team concluded its campaign at the ECA Ubuntu Tri-Nations Series in Eswatini with a memorable 18-run victory over hosts Eswatini.

Batting first, Lesotho posted an impressive 221/6 in 20 overs, powered by a brilliant 82 runs from Maaz Khan. Eswatini responded with 203/5 in 20 overs, handing Lesotho a well-deserved victory.

Lebona Leokaoke was named Player of the Match for his outstanding all-round performance, which played a key role in securing the win for Lesotho.

🇱🇸 Lesotho – 221/6 (20 overs)
🇸🇿 Eswatini – 203/5 (20 overs)

Lesotho won by 18 runs.

At the conclusion of the tournament, Eswatini were crowned champions of the ECA Ubuntu Tri-Nations Series, receiving the trophy and gold medals. Mozambique finished in second position, earning the silver medals, while Lesotho secured third place in the competition.

The Lesotho Cricket Association congratulates all players and officials for their dedication, fighting spirit, and professionalism throughout the tournament.

LESOTHO MEN'S CRICKET TEAM FIGHTS BRAVELY IN ESWATINI TRI-NATIONS SERIES

The Lesotho Senior Men's National Cricket Team continues to gain valuable international experience at the ongoing Tri-Nations Series in Eswatini, competing against hosts Eswatini and Mozambique.

Lesotho opened their campaign on 2 June 2026 against Mozambique. Despite a determined effort, Lesotho posted 107/10 in reply to Mozambique's 217/6, with Mozambique claiming victory by 110 runs.

In their second match on 3 June 2026, Lesotho faced the host nation Eswatini. Eswatini recorded 221/8 before restricting Lesotho to 137/6, securing an 84-run victory.

The third encounter, played on 4 June 2026, saw Lesotho produce their strongest batting performance of the tournament so far. Lesotho posted an impressive 178/3 from their allotted 20 overs. However, Mozambique successfully chased down the target with 200/5, winning the match by 22 runs in an entertaining contest.

While the results have not gone Lesotho's way, the team has shown resilience, determination and steady improvement with each match. The tournament continues to provide an important platform for the players to gain international exposure and strengthen the development of cricket in Lesotho.

Today (5 June 2026) will be a rest day for all participating teams before the competition resumes. The Tri-Nations Series is scheduled to conclude on 8 June 2026.

The Lesotho Cricket Association extends its sincere gratitude to the Lesotho Sports and Recreation Commission (LSRC) for providing transport support that enabled the national team to travel and participate in this important regional tournament in Eswatini. Such support remains vital in advancing the growth of cricket and creating opportunities for Basotho athletes to compete on the international stage.

FIXTURES CONFIRMED FOR ECA UBUNTU TRI-NATIONS T20I SERIES 2026

The Lesotho national cricket team will compete against Eswatini and Mozambique in the upcoming ECA Ubuntu Tri-Nations T20I Series 2026 scheduled for June.

2 June – Lesotho vs Mozambique
3 June – Eswatini vs Lesotho
4 June – Mozambique vs Lesotho
6 June – Lesotho vs Mozambique
7 June – Eswatini vs Lesotho

The tournament will conclude with the final after the round-robin stage.

The competition is expected to provide valuable international exposure and strengthen regional cricket relations within Southern Africa.

The Lesotho Senior Men’s National Cricket Team has concluded its preparations camp for the upcoming Eswatini tour scheduled for 18 May 2026.

The training sessions, which started on Friday, ended on Sunday, 10 May 2026 at Lesotho High School in Maseru.

National coach Alex Mavhiko said the technical team focused on fitness assessments, player development and final squad evaluations ahead of the international engagement.

“We want to engage some Under-19 players in the senior national team as part of development as mandated by the Lesotho Cricket Association Board,” said Mavhiko.

The coach also thanked the Lesotho Cricket Association Board for creating opportunities for both players and the technical team.
