This Wednesday our alumni Alen Varghese presented bChaturunga, the worlds first and revolutionary electronic chess board designed specifically for blind and visually impaired players. This innovative chess board combines tactile feedback and advanced technology to provide a seamless and engaging chess experience for everyone.

Key Features

Tactile pieces and board: each chess piece and square on the board has a unique texture, making them easy to identify by touch. The pieces are designed to stay firmly in place, ensuring uninterrupted play.

Voice guidance system: equipped with a voice guidance system, bChaturunga clearly and accurately announces each move, allowing players to follow the game with ease.

Smart move recognition: using sensors, the board automatically recognizes and announces moves like en passant, check, checkmate, promotion, capture and illegal moves . The board would correct the player when he commits illegal moves. This feature eliminates the need for manual input and interprets right movement.

Portable and durable: designed with portability in mind, bChaturunga is lightweight yet durable, making it ideal for use at home or on the go. Its robust construction ensures long-lasting performance.

Rechargeable battery: the board comes with a rechargeable battery that provides several hours of continuous play. The easy-to-use charging port makes recharging convenient and simple.
