Trotz dëser schwiereger Situatioun huet eis Ekipp eng staark Leeschtung gewisen an den Match géint Izeg bis zum Schluss spannend gehalen.

Um Enn hu mir eis knapp misse geschloen ginn an domat d’Final verpasst. Dat ass besonnesch batter, well mir iwwerzeegt sinn, datt mat enger kompletter Equipe vill méi méiglech gewiescht wier.

On Sunday, we competed in the semi-final of the Coupe de Luxembourg. Unfortunately, we were missing four key players from our first team. Despite these difficult circumstances, our squad delivered a strong performance and kept the tie against Izeg close until the very end.

In the end, we suffered a narrow defeat and missed out on a place in the final. That makes the result even more frustrating, as we firmly believe that with a full-strength team, much more would have been possible.

It is worth noting that both the semi-final and the final were scheduled during the school holidays. As a result, neither we nor our opponents were able to field our strongest line-ups. From a sporting perspective, this is unfortunate, as matches like these should showcase the very best of our sport.

A cup semi-final should be a highlight of the season, with the strongest players competing on court. Scheduling both the semi-final and final during the holiday period therefore remains, in our view, a questionable decision.

During the long weekend, the 42nd edition of the International Whit Tournament took place – and of course Badminton Déifferdeng was once again represented by many players! 🔥

💔 Tough season for the 2nd Team of Badminton Differdange

It has been a difficult season for our 2nd team in the 1st Division. Unfortunately, in the end it wasn’t enough – relegation is now a reality.

It hurts, because we all expected more and the performances often didn’t reflect what we are capable of.

Still, moments like this are part of sport. Not everything is negative: this situation now also gives us the opportunity to rely more on our youth players. They will get the chance to develop, gain experience, and slowly step into the senior teams.

This is how we build the future.

We don’t step back – we rebuild and come back stronger.
