Mārtiņš Sesks to make rally-raid debut in Poland with Latvian-built T3 “VIKING CHALLENGER” by Sports Racing Technologies / Viking-Challenger.

Martins Sesks: “This will be a completely new experience for me and a great challenge, and I’m really looking forward to making my debut. Rally-raid requires a completely different approach and strategy compared to traditional rallying, so I’m going into this adventure together with Didzis, whose experience will be invaluable. My goal will be to learn as much as possible about the discipline.

“In traditional rallying, my co-driver Renārs and I spend a great deal of time perfecting our pace notes and pushing at maximum speed. In rally-raid, by contrast, the route remains unknown until the competition begins, and we tackle it using a prepared roadbook.

“Here, the co-driver is a navigator who has to recognise the terrain and deliver precise instructions. One navigation mistake can result in a huge loss of time. A rally-raid special stage can also last several hours, so, much like in a marathon, the focus is on analysing risk, preserving the car, and managing our own energy and strength. That will be very different from what we are used to in traditional rallying.”

🇭🇺 Hungarian Baja was cancelled - but what did we do?

Instead of packing up, we used the opportunity for a shakedown and some proper testing with the Viking Challenger.

A quick chat and first impressions from Sander after his very first drive and judging by his reaction… we’ll see him behind the wheel again. 👀

What’s going on at the Viking workshop? Well… everything times two😎

Two Viking Challenger rally-raid cars are heading to , which means two cars to prepare, twice the spare parts and a little more work for the whole team.

Right now we’re doing the final preparation, checking both cars and getting everything ready.

Every build has a beginning. This was ours👀

Before the Viking Challenger became a reality, we spent years working with Can-Am race cars- servicing them at events, solving problems and developing custom parts along the way.

That experience gave us a clear idea of what worked, what could be improved, and eventually led us to one question: why not build our own?

And that’s where the Viking Challenger story began🔥
