Poker originated from a variety of card games around the world. First it was the game of Primera in the 15th century. The 18th century saw the introduction of chips, and the 19th century saw the first written documents about the modern rules of the game.

Poker arrived in the United States with the French colonists in the early 19th century, becoming popular among gold prospectors and frontline residents. Poker adapted to local conditions and spread with the expansion of railroad routes.

In the late 19th and early 20th, the first tournaments appeared. As early as 1970, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) was established in Las Vegas. This event attracted players from all over the world and established poker as a global phenomenon. Today, the WSOP is the most important event for professional players, where they can compete in their analytical and strategic skills.

Did you know that there are over 100 different variations of poker? Each type has its own unique rules and strategies. And here are some of the most famous ones.

Texas Hold'em is the most popular form of poker in the world. It is played with two hole cards and five community cards on the table.

Omaha is similar to Texas Hold'em, but is played with four hole cards. To make a combination, players must use two of them.

Seven-Card Stud is a classic form of poker played without community cards. Each player receives seven cards – three face-down and four face-up. Players place bets based on their face-up cards and try to make the best possible hand.

Razz is a game where you need to make the lowest combination of cards, with Ace considered the lowest card. This type of poker requires a special strategy, as reverse combinations like straights and flushes are not taken into account.
