WWS. Emīls, you moved from Latvia to Italy at a very young age. What has this experience given you so far?
Emīls:
Moving to Italy was a big step for me, both as a player and as a person. I had to adapt to a new country, language and style of futsal. It has made me more independent and helped me understand what it really means to live like a professional athlete.
WWS. How would you describe ITAR Futsal and your role in the team?
Emīls:
ITAR is a very ambitious team with a great atmosphere. I feel the trust of my teammates and coaches, and that gives me confidence on the court. My goal is to keep improving, help the team as much as possible and take more responsibility every season.
WWS. You play in JOMA shoes. What matters most to you when choosing futsal footwear?
Emīls:
For me, the most important things are grip, comfort and feeling the ball. In futsal everything happens very quickly, so I need shoes I can trust in every movement. I’m happy to choose JOMA, and it’s also great to have support from WinWin Sport back home in Latvia.
WWS. What is the biggest difference between futsal in Latvia and Italy?
Emīls:
In Italy there is a very strong futsal culture. The game is tactical, intense and every small detail matters. Playing here forces me to think faster and make better decisions, and I feel that this environment is helping me grow as a player.
WWS. You are still at the beginning of your career. What do you want to achieve next?
Emīls:
I don’t want to set limits too early. Right now I want to become better every day, perform well for ITAR and keep earning opportunities with the Latvian national team. Step by step, I want to see how far futsal can take me.
