Our story has always been related to food, and goes back to 1946, when La Maison Arabe opened as the first restaurant to foreigners in the Medina (old city of Marrakech).
Today, we share a delicious almond paste recipe with you filmed at our Secret Gardens' Cookery school, in partnership with الطبخ مع علياء Cooking With Alia

In 1946, the pasha of Marrakech, Thami El Glaoui, granted them the right to establish the first restaurant open to foreigners in the medina.
La Maison Arabe carries two cooking schools, one on-site in the Medina (express cooking workshop of 1 hour) and another at the Secret Gardens of La Maison Arabe several minutes away from the Medina (3 hours cooking workshop). The story of La Maison Arabe began in the 1930’s when two enterprising French women, Hélène Sébillon- Larochette and her daughter, Suzy, settled in Marrakech. He provided

At La Maison Arabe cooking workshops, bread is baked fresh by our Dada. Tanourt is a berber flatbread made with traditional way, in a clay earthenware oven on the ground « Tafarnout oven ». 😋
