Thierry Leret and Renaud Godard have been re-elected by acclamation as Treasurer and Secretary General of the CIM, respectively.
Renaud Godard, a true pillar of the CIM. A Breton, a military naval engineer, he has been working with the CIM since the 1990s, having worked with Olin Stephens, Doug Peterson and Luigi Lang on the original CIM rating formula. He will continue to chair the Rating Committee. His right-hand man will be the board member Jérôme N***e.
Thierry Leret, one of the most important figures of the Monaco Classic Week and Yacht Club de Monaco's Race Director, has been reappointed Chairman of the Safety and Regatta Commission.

A New Vice president has been elected for the CIM
Ricardo Albiñana, from Spain, already Vice-Commodore of the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona and a renowned Spanish filmmaker.
Albiñana is the owner of Islander, a charming Watson 60’ ketch from 1937 with which he regularly participates in regattas.
Thanks to his strong authority and reputation, he has, for the first time, succeeded in representing all Spanish voting members—an important guarantee for the future of the CIM in Spain and across the Mediterranean.

The CIM is proud to announce the election of its new President for the 2026–2030 four-year term.
Elected by acclamation, is the Italian Luigi "Gigi" Rolandi, President of the AIVE – Associazione Italiana Vele d'Epoca and member of the Yacht Club Italiano.
Rolandi, born in Naples, is a world-renowned physicist who was for more than 30 years Director of Research at CERN in Geneva as well as Professor of Physics at the prestigious Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa.
Owner, with his wife Ariella, of the classic yacht "Crivizza", he has won the "CIM – Classic Yacht Trophy", the Mediterranean championship dedicated to classic yachts, in his category for the past two years.
Gigi Rolandi, who had already been elected as a member of the CIM Board of Directors during the previous mandate and who had distinguished himself by his action and authority, succeeds the outgoing President, the Frenchman Frédéric Berthoz.
Upon his election, he said that the CIM's most important commitment will be to invest in communication and media visibility in order to bring the charm of classic yachts to the general public.

Si è conclusa nel Golfo della Spezia l’edizione 2025 di Vele d’Epoca in Passeggiata, organizzata dalla Lega Navale Italiana – Sezione della Spezia, con il supporto dell’AIVE, del CIM, dell’Assonautica Provinciale della Spezia, della Sezione Velica della Marina Militare e dell’Associazione Vele Storiche Viareggio.
Le prove si sono svolte sabato 11 e domenica 12 ottobre su percorsi costieri nel Golfo della Spezia, con base logistica presso il Porticciolo “A. De Benedetti” – Passeggiata Morin.

The 47th Régates Royales de Cannes concluded after a week of racing that combined tradition, heritage and sporting excellence. With steady winds ranging from 5 to over 25 knots, the event delivered challenging conditions in the Baie de la Napoule and Baie de Golfe Juan, highlighting the seamanship and performance of all participating crews.

The Prize-giving Ceremony, held in collaboration with the Yacht Club de France, marked the conclusion of this year’s edition. On Sunday 28 September, the traditional Coupe d’Automne du Yacht Club de France will depart from Cannes towards Saint-Tropez, continuing the Mediterranean classic yacht season.
On behalf of the Comité International de la Méditerranée (CIM), congratulations are extended to the winners, all competitors, and the organizing team of the Yacht Club de Cannes, whose efforts and professionalism contributed to the success of this edition.

Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez returns for its 2025 edition, bringing together the essence of Mediterranean sailing. For nine days, the Gulf of Saint-Tropez becomes a unique meeting point for tradition and innovation: from the most elegant classic yachts to high-performance IRC racers and imposing Maxi Yachts. This celebration of seamanship and style is organized by the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez in partnership with the Ville de Saint-Tropez.
