📌Last week, on 28 May, the OSCE Mission to Moldova co-organized a roundtable in Chisinau on the role of National Action Plans on Business and Human Rights in advancing human rights due diligence and preventing labour exploitation in supply chains in the Republic of Moldova.
✅The event was co-organized with the Danish Institute for Human Rights, The Office of the People’s Advocate/Oficiul Avocatului Poporului Moldova, and the Office of the OSCE Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings.

🔔🎓 Today, OSCE Mission to Moldova monitoring teams observed the “Last Bell” ceremonies held at Latin-script schools in Bender, Corjova, Ribnita, Roghi and Tiraspol.
🤝 The situation remained calm and peaceful throughout the events, without any hindrance reported. Students, teachers and parents celebrated the end of the academic year in a festive atmosphere.
✅The Mission continues to monitor developments related to the functioning of Latin-script schools and remains committed to supporting dialogue and practical solutions in the interest of students, parents and teachers on both banks of the Dniester/Nistru River.

🎨🧩 Mosaic art became a bridge for cultural exchange and creative learning during yesterday’s workshop focused on artistic collaboration and dialogue. 👩🎨 Ten students from the Republican College of Fine Arts “Alexandru Plămădeală” discovered the art of mosaic-making under the guidance of Svetlana Nazarova, mosaic artist, icon painter, and teaching artist at the “Victor Postoikin” Bender Higher Education Art College.
✨ The workshop offered participants the opportunity to learn essential mosaic techniques and experiment with colours, textures, and patterns while creating their own artistic compositions.
🤝 The event also provided a valuable space for dialogue and co-operation, highlighting the importance of sharing knowledge and building connections through cultural and educational initiatives.
The workshop was organized within the framework of the Mission’s project “Promoting Peace Through Art on both banks of the Dniester/Nistru River, Edition VI”, aimed at building confidence and trust between the art communities from both banks.

🤝 Today, the Acting Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Izabela Sylwia Hartmann, met separately with Chief Negotiators Valeriu Chiveri and Vitaly Ignatiev in Chisinau and Tiraspol as part of the Mission’s continued shuttle diplomacy efforts within the Transdniestrian settlement process.
🗣️ The discussions focused on maintaining the current momentum in dialogue, encouraging continued direct engagement between the Sides and exploring possibilities for further intensifying contacts.
✅The Mission remains committed to supporting constructive dialogue and practical co-operation between the Sides. Both Chisinau and Tiraspol have been encouraged to move beyond managed dialogue and demonstrate genuine political will by committing to implement concrete, verifiable solutions that deliver improvements to people living on both banks.

📌Art conservation and restoration brought together yesterday young artists from both banks of the Dniester/Nistru River for an immersive workshop where creativity met heritage. Ten art students from the Republican College of Fine Arts “Alexandru Plămădeală” visited their colleagues at “Victor Postoikin” Bender Higher Education Art College.
✅The young participants practiced essential conservation techniques through hands-on activities, including stabilizing supports and paint layers, re-stretching canvases, and treating damaged wooden supports.
✅Natalia Muraviova, an experienced restorer and teacher from the “Victor Postoikin” Bender Higher Education Art College, guided the participants step by step through the restoration process with precision, care, and attention to detail.
✅Beyond developing technical skills, the workshop strengthened cooperation and dialogue among young people from both banks. Participants highlighted the value of exchanging experiences, discovering new artistic approaches, and building meaningful connections through shared cultural and educational initiatives. The event is organized within the framework of the Mission's project “Promoting Peace Through Art on both banks of the Dniester/Nistru River, Edition VI”, aimed at building confidence and trust between the art community from both banks.

🏥🤝 Our Mission promotes access to healthcare for citizens from both banks of the Dniester/Nistru River. In this context, from 4 to 19 May, the Mission supported a continuous training course on the modern treatment of thoracic spine osteoarticular lesions for healthcare professionals from Transdniestria, conducted by lecturers and professors from Nicolae Testemițanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Republic of Moldova.
👨⚕️🩺 The training provided an opportunity for medical practitioners from both banks to exchange expertise and strengthen professional cooperation in the fields of Orthopedics and Traumatology.
💬 “Continuous updating of medical knowledge and the exchange of best practices in the field of Orthopedics and Traumatology among medical practitioners from both banks of the Dniester/Nistru River contributes to the provision of medical services based on modern standards and practices, tailored to the individual needs of patients,” stated Professor Nicolae Caproș, Doctor Habilitated in Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

📌The Acting Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Izabela Sylwia Hartmann spoke to members of the Women’s Advisory Board at their first meeting this year, hosted by UN Women Moldova.
🗣“The Women’s Advisory Board brings together women from both banks of the Dniester/Nistru River, ensuring that all perspectives are equally represented”, said Hartmann during the meeting.
🤝OSCE Mission to Moldova stands firmly alongside UN Women Moldova in supporting inclusive dialogue and women’s participation on issues affecting communities on both banks.

Concluding his official trip to the Republic of Moldova 🇲🇩, the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, the Federal Councillor of the Swiss Confederation, Ignazio Cassis paid a visit to the Mission to Moldova to meet with the Mission staff. He praised their hard work on the ground and stressed the Mission’s unique role in advancing dialogue and confidence-building.

During the recent visit of the OSCE Secretary General, H.E. Feridun H. Sinirlioğlu, to the Republic of Moldova 🇲🇩, the Secretary General took the opportunity to meet with the staff of the Mission to Moldova to express his support and appreciation for their dedicated work in advancing dialogue & confidence-building on both banks.

📌Today, OSCE Mission to Moldova facilitated an online meeting of the Civil Status and Documentation Working Group, bringing together experts from both banks of the Dniester/Nistru River.
👥The Sides discussed issues related to registries of civil status acts, digital civil status documents, and exchange of information on people’s civil status. This Working Group has not reconvened since July 2024.
✅The Mission welcomed the resumption of this dialogue, so that the Sides could improve their cooperation in the interest of people on both banks.
